IMPACT Wrestling has suspended Tommy Dreamer (Tom Laughlin) for an indefinite period following comments made on Dark Side of the Ring.

On Friday, IMPACT Wrestling issued the following statement to POST Wrestling confirming his suspension, which was first reported by PWinsider.com:

We are aware of Mr Laughlin’s (Tommy Dreamer) comments on “Dark Side of the Ring”. The views expressed by him in the interview are completely unacceptable. We can confirm Mr Laughlin was suspended this morning with immediate effect, pending further action.

Dreamer appeared on Thursday’s episode on VICE TV detailing the events of the May 2002 chartered flight during a WWE U.K. tour that has since been dubbed the “Plane Ride from Hell”.

Dreamer came under immediate fire for his comments downplaying the allegations made by flight attendant Heidi Doyle by Ric Flair (Richard Fliehr) on the flight.

Doyle, who filed a 2004 lawsuit along with another attendant, alleged that Flair exposed himself and made Doyle touch his penis while cornering her in an area of the plane.

Dreamer dismissed the actions as a joke and that he was just “stylin’ and profiling” while adding if Doyle felt this way about Flair, she should not have settled the lawsuit. He also likened the situation to “cancel culture” and people being offended by everything today.

The suspension comes as IMPACT is taping three consecutive days of shows at Skyway Studios in Nashville, Tennessee beginning tonight.

Dreamer is also a co-host on the popular Busted Open Radio show on Sirius.
