AEW Rampage finished among the top ten cable programs on Friday without competition from WWE this week despite an 8 percent drop.
The show dropped 8 percent in both viewership and the 18-49 demographic compared with last week’s episode. Last week’s show faced head-to-head competition from Friday Night SmackDown, which ran commercial-free against the first thirty minutes of Rampage.
This past Friday’s episode faced sports competition with the ALCS game between the Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox that topped all of television on Friday with 1.29 in the 18-49 demo and 5,812,000 viewers on FS1. Rampage also went against the L.A. Lakers vs. Phoenix Suns that began at 10:09 p.m. ET on ESPN and finished second for the night.
Rampage was highlighted by the rematch between Andrade El Idolo and PAC, which received strong word-of-mouth buzz throughout the week from those in attendance when the match was taped the previous Saturday in Miami. The promotion also revealed the brackets for the TBS tournament on Rampage.
The demos that dropped double digits were Females 12-34 by 20 percent (0.10 to 0.08) and Males 18-49 that dropped by 12 percent. Females 18-49 grew by 7 percent this week.
This week’s episode of Rampage will be a taped edition from Boston featuring Bryan Danielson vs. Eddie Kingston in the semi-finals of the Title Eliminator tournament. FS1 is listing a one-hour edition of “Talking Smack” to air from 10-11 p.m. ET against Rampage following SmackDown, which also airs on FS1 this Friday.
