I’ll Be Your Piper; Will You Be My Valentine?

CM Punk starts the show sitting in the middle of the ring in his seated position and talks about being straight edge which gets some boos, but he says those are the familiar words he spoke over 20 years ago and they became the foundation of his career. Punk said he inspired wrestlers, and some are sitting backstage and became straight edge because of him and sit like he does. Punk continues to say that you would think he would be mad for losing to MJF twice, but the truth is, he is proud of ‘Max’. Maxwell Jacob Friedman fancies himself Piper in Portland, Bret in Calgary, and Punk in Chicago, but in reality, he’s ‘shitty little Max, from shitty little Long Island’. Punk thanks Jon Moxley for last week’s assist, but now he gets to pick the time, place, and type of match for his rematch, so he picks March 6th at AEW Revolution. As far as the type of match, he was thinking of a steel cage, but the problem with that is Wardlow can still climb in and MJF can run away. Punk brings up Piper in Portland again and says he’s won more cage matches than he’s lost, and that might be too easy and thought back on the toughest matches of his career and literally left pieces of himself in the ring and thinks of Piper in Portland again. Two days after Valentine’s Day, he asks MJF to be his ‘Valentine’ as he shows a dog collar. Punk says this is a lesson he needs to teach him but calls MJF out as he wants to tell him to his face. As MJF comes out, Punk pulls out the picture of CM Punk with MJF as a child at an autograph signing. It was the greatest day ever for MJF, but for Punk it was just a Friday, and Revolution will just be a Sunday, and instead of being stained by his shitty spray tan, MJF will be stained with blood. Punk puts the dog collar chain in his mouth, as MJF drops the mic and walks out as commentary mentions this being the second Dog Collar Match in AEW history after Cody Rhodes vs. Mr. Brodie Lee.

I Love a Good Three-Way

Tony Schiavone is backstage with Jurassic Express and Christian Cage and mentions that next week there will be a Tag Team Battle Royale and in two weeks a Casino Battle Royale with the winners facing Jurassic Express at AEW Revolution in a 3-way match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship, as Jungle Boy says he loves three ways and Cage says they will stay champs.

Bryan Danielson vs. Lee Moriarty

Matt Sydal sends Moriarty to the ring as Melissa Joan Hart is seen ringside. Danielson extends his hand to start the match as they take it to the mat with takedowns before Danielson slaps Moriarty while in the ropes. Danielson puts on a surfboard before pulling back, but Moriarty counters out and tries to put a stretch on, but Danielson goes right to the ropes. Moriarty trips up Danielson before they run the ropes and have a sequence in which Moriarty stops him and sends Danielson to the outside. As Danielson goes back in, he traps Moriarty in the ropes and kicks him in the chest before kneeing him in the face as they go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back, Danielson has Moriarty pinned down, but Moriarty keeps escaping until Danielson puts on the LeBell lock just for Moriarty to get his feet on the ropes. Moriarty comes back with a back suplex, into a couple more pin attempts before Danielson lands a hard smack on Moriarty. That fires Moriarty up who comes back with smacks of his own, before Danielson hits a rolling elbow, tries a kick but Moriarty catches him, and hits a suplex for a two count. Moriarty gets on Danielson’s back, lands blows to the back of the head and puts on the Border City Stretch again. Danielson counters into a shoulder capture suplex. As Moriarty slowly gets up, Danielson hits his Busaiku knee followed by his stomps to Moriarty’s face and the Triangle Sleeper while doing a double bicep pose as the referee calls off the match.

Winner: Bryan Danielson by referee stoppage at 12:13

Is It Yes or No

Danielson gets on the mic after and says he came out here to teach Moriarty a thing or two about violence and asks the audience if he passed or failed. The crowd gives a mixed reaction as Danielson says that’s why he doesn’t treat the American audience with anything. Danielson said the real reason he got on the microphone is to get an answer from Jon Moxley and he wants it now. Jon Moxley’s music hits as he makes his way through the crowd and into the ring. Moxley gets on the mic and says over a decade ago he was like Moriarty and a lot of the other kids, and he took a shot at trying to take down the great American Dragon Bryan Danielson. Moxley says Danielson was late, so they sent Tracy Smothers to stall the crowd. When Danielson finally showed up, they met face to face for the first time and Moxley says he gave everything he had that night, but he came up short. Moxley says getting a taste of the best just made him want it more and over the years he had more shots at Danielson and every single time he came up short, in fact, he has never beaten Bryan Danielson. So, when Danielson showed up, while everybody else was scared and intimidated, Moxley was excited as he could finally slay the one dragon, he could never slay the American Dragon. As it turns out, Danielson doesn’t want to fight him, he wants to join forces with him. Moxley said he heard what Danielson said and it got to him thinking how awesome it would be as they could create a dynasty of pure wrestling violence, but then he thought of not only the destruction they’d cause by the stuff they can create by leaving a legacy. And no matter how hard Moxley tried, he couldn’t think of one good reason to say no, but then he got to wondering that the only reason Danielson wants to stand side-by-side with Moxley is because he doesn’t want to stand across the ring with Jon Moxley because he knows what Moxley will do to him what he’s done toe everybody else in front of him the last three years. If that’s the case, then he’s already beaten Bryan Danielson. He asks Danielson what the reason is, and he’ll leave it up to Danielson, as he’s not saying yes and not saying no. Moxley says he’s not that young kid from a decade ago, and since this is them meeting for the first time in AEW, he tells him this, he doesn’t stand side by side with nobody until he bleeds with them first.

The Limitless Face of the Revolution

We see a video on Keith Lee where he talks about arriving in AEW and with his arrival comes the qualification of the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match. Lee says he’s coming here to make a statement and the ladder match is Phase 2, and after that the TNT Championship shall be his.

Face of the Revolution Qualifying Match: Wardlow (w/ Shawn Spears) vs. Max Caster (w/ Anthony Bowens)

Caster’s freestyle mentions DaBaby, Nashville Hot Chicken being overrated, the Titans being eliminated in the first round and Wardlow being MJF’s bitch boy. Former NXT referee Stephon Smith is the official in this match, that goes right to the outside as they go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back, Caster hits Wardlow with a chain as Shawn Spears is distracting the referee. Caster hits the Mic Drop, but Wardlow kicks out. Bowens gets on the apron but gets knocked over as Wardlow hits a power bomb. Wardlow hits two more before putting his foot on Caster’s chest for the pin.

Winner: Wardlow by pinfall at 5:17, to advance

Anthony Bowens runs in the ring and starts attacking Wardlow, as Shawn Spears does nothing. Wardlow stops him and hits a power bomb, and now Spears runs in and starts hitting The Acclaimed with chair shots.

Strike First, Strike Hard, No Mercy

Tony Schiavone is backstage with Dr. Britt Baker DMD, Mercedes Martinez, Rebel and Jamie Hayter as Baker tells Mercedes there is no losing tonight and she has to finish the job with Thunder Rosa and after Baker will be the most powerful woman in wrestling and calls in her sensei, who is revealed to be Martin Kove who plays John Kreese in the Karate Kid movies and Cobra Kai show. Mercedes walks off and says she’s going to ‘murder that bitch’, as Kove tells Baker to show no mercy.

The Other Adam

Tony Schiavone introduces AEW World Champion ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and asks him how he’s doing after his Texas Death Match last week against Lance Archer. Before Page can say anything, he gets interrupted by Adam Cole. Cole brings up all the matches that Page has had and how it was like war for him before telling Schiavone to get the hell out of his ring. Cole mentions that he was a world champion everywhere that he’s gone and it’s a shame that Page’s reign has to come to an end really soon. Page asks how it must have felt for Cole to watch his friends build a wrestling empire without him and how it must be weird for Cole to stand in the ring with his Bullet Club buddy and look at a title that he’ll never hold. Cole brings up the Young Bucks and Dark Order and how they haven’t brought up Page’s name in months and asks Page what kind of friend he is. Page says he’s not perfect and when he thinks about it, he says Cole doesn’t have the best record with friendship either. Page said Cole getting into the ring with him could be Cole’s biggest mistake ever as Cole says Page has become a professional wrestler and world champion but now Cole is here in AEW and truth be told, whenever they are in the same promotion, Page has always been known as ‘the other Adam’. Page puts the title down and gets ready to fight but Cole stops him and says he has nothing but love, respect, and admiration for him and if he could share the ring with anybody it would be Page and someday, they will fight for that AEW World Championship and it will be man to man, and when that day comes, may the best man win. Cole extends his hand and Page shakes it, as Cole leaves to the back. As Page is in the ring, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish attack Page from behind. Cole runs back in and joins in on the three on one attack. Security runs in to stop them, before the Dark Order hits the ring. 10 starts taking out the security guards including throwing one to the outside onto the others.

Chris Jericho & Jake Hager vs. Santana & Ortiz (w/ Eddie Kingston)

As all four men are face to face to start the match, Eddie Kingston makes his way to the ring wearing a GZA ‘Liquid Swords’ shirt and gets in Santana & Ortiz’s corner. Santana and Jericho start the match smacking each other before Jericho gets thrown into the corner and splashed. Ortiz comes in as they start double teaming Jericho as Ortiz gets a two count. Hager comes in and beats down Ortiz while asking him ‘why, tell me why’. Hager hits a suplex and a Hager bomb for a two count as they go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back, Ortiz clotheslines Jericho down before making the hot tag to Santana. Hager comes in and he and Jericho double team Santana in the corner, but Santana knocks Hager to the outside. Santana and Ortiz start double teaming Jericho and hit the Street Sweeper, but Jericho kicks out at two. They continue to double team on Jericho, as Hager stays on the outside. Jericho catches a cannonball attempt from Santana into the Liontamer, as Kingston urges Santana to reach the ropes, in which he does. Kingston gets on the apron, as Jericho dropkicks him off. Santana hits the discuss lariat on Jericho and gets the pin.

Winners: Santana & Ortiz by pinfall at 10:44

After the match, Jericho heads to the outside and starts brawling with Eddie Kingston.

You All Have Beautiful Babies

We go to the Cutler Cam, as Adam Cole & reDRagon ask the Young Bucks where they were during the Page beatdown, which they said that would be like beating a dead horse. Page says he will defeat 10, as Jay White will take out Trent Beretta. They bring up the tag team battle royals coming up as Young Bucks and reDRagon argue about who will win, before they ask Kyle O’Reilly where he’s been. O’Reilly says he was too busy being a dad, as the Young Bucks mention having multiple children and then on, they argue on who has the more beautiful babies. They go separate ways as Cole can’t decide which way to go, as Cutler asks him, and Cole tells him to shut up.

No Disqualification Match: Thunder Rosa vs. Mercedes Martinez

Thunder Rosa comes out in a Bruce Lee ‘Game of Death’ / The Bride ‘Kill Bill’ inspired outfit as they start brawling on the outside right away. Rosa pulls out a table, before they start brawling into the audience. Rosa climbs the railing and hits a cross body onto Mercedes as they go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back, we see Mercedes putting Rosa through the table with a Fisherman’s Buster off the apron. Mercedes starts hitting Mercedes with a chair as they go inside the ring that’s filled with weapons. They head to the top, where Rosa hits a hurricanrana before putting the trash can on top of Mercedes. Rosa hits a running drop kick to it, but Mercedes breaks the pin with her hand on the rope. Rosa heads to the top again but Mercedes smacks her with the trash can lid before joining her on the top where she hits a Spider German Suplex. Mercedes heads to the top and hits an elbow drop but Rosa kicks out right after two. Mercedes starts piling up the chairs and picks up Rosa, but Rosa hits a crucifix bomb followed by the Fire Thunder Driver on top of the chairs for the pin.

Winners: Thunder Rosa by pinfall at 9:30

After the match, Rosa shows Mercedes a sign of respect by helping her up and bowing to her, but Britt Baker heads to the ring with Jamie Hayter and Rebel. Baker heads over to Martin Kove and asks what to do next, and Kove tells her to finish Rosa, as Baker instructs Hayter and Rebel to beat down on Rosa. Baker grabs a lead pipe and tells Mercedes to use it, but before she can make a choice, Hayter attacks Mercedes from behind.

The crowd is fully behind both men as they lock up into the ropes. They end up on the ropes, as Darby pushes Sammy down. Sammy heads back up, places Darby on his shoulders and drops him onto the turnbuckle as he spills to the outside. As Darby goes back inside, Sammy gets a two count and drops Darby onto the ropes. Guevara heads to the top and hits a senton onto Darby who was on the ropes and falls to the outside as they go to picture-in-picture.

When we come back, Allin hits two Coffin Splashes before attacking Guevara’s knee repeatedly. They head to the top where Guevara hits a crazy looking Spanish Fly from the top rope. Allin puts on the figure four, as Guevara keeps reversing it. Guevara screams ‘fuck you’, as they start smacking each other back and forth. Guevara goes for the GTH, but Darby reverses it into the Last Supper for a two count. Darby comes back with a stunner, as Guevara heads to the outside where Darby tries a suicide dive, but Guevara stops him with a cutter. Guevara sets Allin onto the apron and goes for a senton, but Allin moves as Guevara crashes down onto the apron into the outside. They make their way slowly back inside where Allin sets up for the Coffin Drop. Jose the Assistant gets on the apron, but Sting takes him out. As the referee is distracted, Andrade El Idolo takes out Darby with his tablet. Guevara takes advantage and hits Go to Hell for the pin.

Winner: Sammy Guevara by pinfall at 14:50, to retain

Matt Hardy runs into the ring and attacks Darby Allin, as Sammy Guevara tries to help out, Andrade runs in and takes them out and takes both of Sammy’s TNT championships.
