Singles Match: EFFY vs. Nick Wayne

The two men shook hands after a brief promo from EFFY and started with a lockup which saw EFFY overpowering the teen. EFFY gave Nick Wayne a noogie and ran his face across the ropes, Wayne was able to cut EFFY’s offense off with a rana, followed by a tope suicida but EFFY was able to recover quickly and delivered a side slam on the apron. Back inside the ring, EFFY hit Wayne with an under the rainbow that spiked Wayne on his head, EFFY followed that up with another back suplex. EFFY was caught with a fisherman’s suplex followed by a Code Red but was only able to get a two count. While Wayne was recovering, EFFY did the Jeff Jarrett strut and locked in a figure four leg lock, Wayne powered up and traded slaps with EFFY. Wayne reached the ropes and sent EFFY to the floor and connected with a  beautiful tope con hilo; Wayne then brought a door into the ring but he took too long and EFFY beat him up and placed him on the door bridge. EFFY ascended to the top rope, Wayne was able to recover and hit an uppercut followed by a Spanish Fly through the door. EFFY lost his balance and was able to complete the rotation and landed mainly on the chair. While Nick Wayne was doing the Johnny Gargano shocked face, EFFY was able to roll him up for the victory.

EFFY Defeated Nick Wayne

“Since Hammerstein, I’ve been trying to get back and I can win belts and I can beat future stars but you’re still in the back of my head Jeff. Jeff Jarrett wasn’t supposed to be here, EFFY wasn’t supposed to lose to Jeff Jarrett, Jeff Jarrett was supposed to man up and face me on my terms and Jeff is nowhere to be found, sorry San Francisco, but who really cares about the slap nuts right? And Now Jeff, as creepy as it sounds, I know where you live, and I came the first time with a warning, a polite gentlemen’s agreement. Unlike you did to me, with guitars to my head and no one telling me who was there but don’t make me come back to that house, don’t make me knock on that door. You know the dates, Game Changer Wrestling is everywhere. *GCW chant * Double J EFFY’s got time, in Columbus, in Detroit, In Atlantic City, in LA, hell if I have to wait till Memorial Day I’ll see you in Vegas!  But if I don’t get an answer soon, I’m coming back, I’m going directly to where you live and I’m dealing with this off-camera, but I know you like money but I also know you like to walk away. You want to brag about leaving with a briefcase full of money, kicking Vince McMahon’s ass. You can’t walk away from EFFY Double J,”

Singles Match: Jordan Oliver vs. Jack Cartwheel

The two started with a strong collar and elbow tie-up, Cartwheel grabbed a wrist lock while Cartwheeling but Oliver was able to break it up by getting to the ropes. Oliver grounded Cartwheel for a little bit with a headlock and armbars; this is their second meeting, the first occurring in Atlantic City where Oliver was able to submit Cartwheel. Oliver kept attempting to grab onto Cartwheel but Cartwheel’s diversionary tactics proved to be too much as he was able to get back into control of the match. The two men stood in the center of the ring as the crowd gave them a standing ovation, Cartwheel once again evaded with some cartwheels, Oliver got sick of it and slapped Cartwheel across the face and hit a jumping enziguri for a two count. Cartwheel caught Oliver who was coming off the second rope and tossed him across the ring and hit a running shooting star press for a two count. Oliver once again slapped the taste out of Cartwheel’s mouth but he bounced back right away and locked in a cross-arm breaker on Oliver. Oliver fired back up and hit a brainbuster for a two count, he secured the Rings of Saturn long enough to fully cut off Jack Cartwheel’s momentum. The pace picked up as Cartwheel hit a Death valley driver into a crossbody for a two count, Cartwheel attempted a sunset flip powerbomb but Oliver flipped out of it and hit a massive Acid Kick, stacked Cartwheel up on the ropes, and executed a giant superplex for another two-count. Both men were winded as they traded strikes from their knees in the center of the ring, they both stood up, went forehead to forehead, and started slapping and overhand chopping each other. After an incredible flurry of offense, Jordan Oliver hit a rope-assisted Orange Crush for the victory. I’ve never seen anything like it, this was an unbelievable match that was extremely hard to top all night.

Singles Match: Allie Katch vs. Kidd Bandit

Kidd Bandit fangirled out for Allie Katch, giving her a hug in the middle of the ring, Bandit was thrown by Katch and claimed that she wasn’t ready which got a laugh from the crowd. They worked each other over with headlocks and arm submissions, Bandit had a good offensive sequence but Katch started some small joint manipulation and locked in a Dragon Sleeper. Bandit was able to escape and hung Katch up on the ropes, she hit a metronome through the ropes but was unable to capitalize. Katch repeatedly attacked the back of Kid Bandit throughout the match; Katch connected with her hip attack, cannonball combo but Bandit was able to kick out. Katch hit a piledriver for the victory.

Singles Match: Masha Slamovich  vs. Jimmy Lloyd

Masha took control of the beginning of the match displaying her submission background, Jimmy Lloyd didn’t take too kindly to being shown up and slapped her across the face and hit her with a back suplex for a near fall. Lars Frederiksen mentioned that Jimmy Lloyd is one of his favorite professional wrestlers and he got super excited when Lloyd started bringing out the plunder: doors, chairs, trash can. Lloyd attempted to hit Masha with a chair but she ducked and hit him with a head kick followed by a clothesline. Lloyd was selling his ass off for her which was needed after an okay match the night prior with Chris Dickinson. The two fought on the floor with Masha connecting with a tornado DDT that busted Jimmy Lloyd open; Masha teed off on Lloyd’s chest with a flurry of kicks and went to set up the aforementioned door. Lloyd Sabu’d a chair at her head and finished setting up the double doors on the floor, the two battled on the apron for a little bit but Lloyd was able to get Masha up and sent her through the doors with a Death Valley Driver. Masha hit a missile dropkick that sent Jimmy Lloyd flying through a door that was propped up in the corner of the ring, Masha didn’t waste any time as she followed that up with a flurry of kicks and a suplex onto an open chair for a two count. Masha set the trashcan up and put Lloyd up on the ropes to try and hit a Frankensteiner, Lloyd was able to get her up and powerbombed her onto the trash can. That didn’t keep her down long as she connected with a german suplex and finally a package piledriver for the decisive victory. Jimmy Lloyd once again proved how damn good he is, another star made.

Masha Slamovich Defeated Jimmy Lloyd

LA Fights Showcase Match: Midas Kreed vs. Titus Alexander

Titus didn’t waste any time and jumped Kreed before the bell and sent him to the floor, they battled on the floor for a little while with Titus maintaining his control. Titus continued the beat down in the ring but was sent to the floor and Kreed was able to hit a tope, he went for a springboard but was cut off with a dropkick and followed by a backbreaker from Titus. Kreed slapped Titus in the face and went for a jumping maneuver but Titus caught Kreed and planted him onto the canvas with a spinebuster. Kreed hit a Code Red that would’ve made Jack Nicholson proud, followed by a spin kick for a very close two count, Kreed attacked Titus with a series of cutters, they battled on the top rope, Titus knocked Kreed off and hit a chaos theory into a Michinoku Driver for the victory.

Titus Alexander Defeated Midas Creed

Six-Man Tag Team Match: The Second Gear Crew (AJ Gray, Matthew Justice, Mance Warner) vs. The South Pacific Savages (Juicy Finau, Journey Fatu, D-Rogue)

Fatu and Mancer started off the match by trading stiff overhand chops, Mance was rocked a couple of times but was able to stay on his feet, Fatu was unphased. Justice entered the ring and was chopped out of his boots continually by Journey Fatu; AJ Gray was up next, Gray connected with a double overhand chop followed by a stiff lariat. Juicy beat up SGC for a few moments but the numbers game caught up with him and Juicy was sent to the floor. Gray attempted a dive but the Samoans caught him and blasted Gray with a chair. The match quickly went to the floor where both teams continued to beat each other with chairs and other plunder. The 400lbs Juicy Finau teased a dive but Mance Warner split, got on the mic, and told Juicy that “ you big son of a bitch, I have a robotic leg, i ain’t catching shit.” Juicy laid out Matthew Justice and hit a second rope splash that looked worse to take than Jeff Hardy’s Swanton, Journey Fatu speared AJ Gray through a door that splintered underneath their weight. Justice threw a bunch of chairs into the ring and helped Mance set up a door bridge. Juicy locked in the Tongan Death grip and placed Justice and Warner on the door. Juicy climbed to the top rope but took too much time, SGC hit Juicy with a tower of doom through the door, they piled on and tried to pin him twice but Juicy kept kicking out. Mance DDTed D-Rogue onto a door, Justice, and Gray flew off the top rope with a leg drop splash combo and pinned D-Rogue.

The Second Gear Crew Defeated The South Pacific Savages

Singles Match: Dark Sheik with Pollo Del Mar vs. Joey Janela

Dark Sheik kicked the blue blockers off Janela’s face and sent him to the floor, she was able to hit a tilt-a-whirl DDT sending Janela crashing into the second row. Back in the ring, Joey was able to throw Sheik off of the top rope and locked in various submission moves to the dismay of the crowd; Sheik was able to leverage her position and almost snuck in a quick pinfall. Joey got Sheik up into the fireman’s position on the apron but she was able to slip out and she hit Joey with sliced bread #2 sending both of them crashing to the floor. Sheik rolled Joey back into the ring and hit a top rope leg drop for a two count, Sheik took a moment to go underneath the ring and retrieve the weapons necessary for a door bridge. Joey hit Sheik with a series of chair shots and set up the door bridge; Pollo Del Mar entered the ring but Joey punched her in the face and put her on the top rope, Pollo kissed Joey and powerbombed him through the door.

Joey set up Sheik on a door bridge on the floor and got a running start and connected with an elbow from the stage. Joey tried to secure the victory but to no avail, Joey went to the top rope and hit a chair assisted double stomp but Sheik once again kicked out. The two exchanged a wild series of strikes in the center of the ring but Joey once again wasn’t able to pin her. Joey set up three chairs in the ring but Sheik used them against Joey, she spiked Joey on the chairs and got the pinfall. Joey landed terribly on those chairs, it sort of took the air out of the room and everyone became Real Quiet, a great match nonetheless between these two tremendous wrestlers.

Singles Match: Minoru Suzuki vs. Mike Bailey

The match started with a feeling-out process that consisted of them trading and checking kicks, Suzuki and Bailey went hold for hold in the early portion of the match,  Suzuki went for the cross-arm breaker but Bailey was able to quickly escape as both men stared each other down. Bailey connected with the Speedball kicks grounding Suzuki and sending him to the apron, Minoru locked in the headstand cross-arm breaker and sent Bailey flying into the fourth row. Suzuki turned his back and Bailey blindsided him with a couple of overhead chops, Suzuki returned the favor and immediately grounded Bailey with a thudding chop. The power Suzuki is able to get behind those overhead chops is terrifying. Suzuki sent a stunned Bailey back into the ring and once again started to work over the arm and Bailey’s joints, Bailey was able to get to the ropes breaking the hold. Bailey fired back up hitting a series of kicks and flips onto the prone Suzuki, Bailey went for the buzzsaw kick but Minoru cut him off with a boot to the jaw followed by a penalty kick for a two-count. The two men stood eye to eye in the center of the ring trading strikes like Hagler and Hearns, Suzuki got the best of the strike exchange but Bailey was able to use his quickness to evade the other offense that Suzuki attempted. Suzuki went to the floor after a kick to the head and Bailey hit a beautiful Golden Triangle taking out the legend on the floor. The two once again stood in the center of the ring trading vicious forearms, each time Bailey was able to fire back up and land a crushing kick across the chest of Suzuki. Suzuki went for the Gotch Style piledriver but Bailey reversed it into a moonsault double knees followed by a brutal buzzsaw kick for a two count. Bailey hit the Tornado kicks, and Bailey climbed to the top rope and went for the ultimate weapon, Suzuki moved out of the way and tried to lock a choke but Bailey was able to power out with strikes to the ribs. Bailey tried to pick up the pace and connect with a lariat but Suzuki snuck behind spun him around, hit him with a forearm, and connected with the Gotch Style Piledriver for the victory.

A no-brainer when it comes to match of the year, this match was incredible. The pacing was perfect, the strikes were vicious, and they told a great story throughout. This could’ve been Suzuki’s best match in GCW.
