AEW Dynamite followed its Blood & Guts special with Jon Moxley’s first defense of the Interim Championship while topping cable programming on Wednesday.

The July 6th edition of the show from Rochester averaged 979,000 viewers and approximately 470,000 (0.36) in the 18-49 demographic, per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.

While viewership fell by four percent this week, the 18-49 demo was nearly equal to the week prior (472,000), which featured the month-long promoted Blood & Guts match in Detroit.

Dynamite was #1 on cable beating out Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Major League Baseball on ESPN, and Fox News programming.

It was Dynamite’s second-highest overall viewership since April 6th behind last week’s number that topped one million viewers.

The show was highlighted by a spike of 21 percent in females 18-49 and a growth of 47.5 percent among females 12-34 from last week.

Adults 18-34 increased by 32 percent this week and was Dynamite’s highest 18-34 audience since April 20th.

Adults 35-49 experienced a 15 percent drop and adults 50+ dropped by nine percent from last week.

In Canada, the show finished sixth among sports programs with 122,300 viewers and 60,700 in the 25-54 demo, which were down from 161,000 and 93,900 respectively last week on TSN 2.

The show featured two title matches as Jon Moxley defended the Interim Championship against Brody King and Wardlow won the TNT Championship in a Street Fight against Scorpio Sky.

Next week’s show is a special “Fyter Fest” themed show and will include The Young Bucks defending the AEW Tag Team Championships against Swerve Strickland & Keith Lee and Ricky Starks & Powerhouse Hobbs.
