New Japan Pro Wrestling will dedicate next year’s Wrestle Kingdom event to the late Antonio Inoki.

During Monday’s ceremony to honor Inoki, who died last week, it was stated that Wrestle Kingdom 17 will be held in his honor and memory.

The New Japan roster surrounded the ring as Kero Tanaka threw to a video package showcasing the many highlights from Inoki’s career featuring his famous rivalries.

Seiji Sakaguchi was present for the ceremony and entered the ring to hold the photo of Inoki as they observed a ten-bell salute.

Wrestle Kingdom 17 will take place on Wednesday, January 4th at the Tokyo Dome.
