A knee injury has sidelined Owens.

Taking to his social media, Chase Owens shared that he suffered a knee injury and his physical therapist advised him to take a step back from in-ring action so he can avoid surgery.

18 years I’ve been wrestling consecutively without having to take time off. That unfortunately ends this week as I have had a injury to my knee and my physical therapist told me to take some time off to properly heal to avoid surgery. See ya guys soon!

Owens was last in action on May 21st for the River City Wrestling promotion in Texas. He last competed under the NJPW banner at Collision in Philadelphia in April.

In February 2022, Owens announced that he re-signed with New Japan Pro-Wrestling. He noted that he’ll be near the age of 40 when the contract expires.
