AEW Collision Results: New Match, New Stipulation for Full Gear

Friday Night Collision Live

Collision kicked off Full Gear Weekend with Tony Schiavone in the ring with The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, and Nick Wayne) and Schiavone announced there would be a four-way contenders match between Trent Beretta, Komander, Brian Cage, and Penta El Zero Miedo for a TNT Championship match later tonight on Rampage. Christian then ran down all of their opponents tomorrow night at Full Gear and finished up by saying he was going to break Adam Copeland’s neck. 

Big Bill & Ricky Starks or BTTEIHNQ

The BTTEIHNQ or “Best Tag Team Ever In History, No Question” said that Ricky Starks said he went to Tony Khan and that tomorrow’s Tag Team Championship four-way would now be a ladder match. 

Miro vs. Daniel Garcia

The first match of the evening was Miro taking on Daniel Garcia. This match was set up when Daniel Garcia did his infamous dance in front of CJ Perry last week. Garcia had the advantage over Miro briefly and was about to dance when Matt Menard ran out and got clobbered by Miro. Garcia got Miro into a deep sharpshooter which allowed Miro to take his head and drive it into the match. Miro then put Garcia in Game Over and picked up the win. We then went backstage to CJ Perry and Andrade and Perry said she entered him into the Continental Classic and if he wins he gets an extra bonus. Andrade seemed upset but then Perry whispered something to him and he said he trusted her.  

Kings of the Black Throne vs. The Boys

Next up was Malakai Black and Brody King taking on Dalton Castle’s Boys. KOTBT picked up the quick victory with Dante’s Inferno.

Four-Way TNT Title Opportunity 

Next was the four-way match between Trent Beretta, Komander, Brian Cage, and Penta El Zero Miedo with the winner getting a TNT Championship Match against Christian Cage later tonight on Rampage. This was a highly entertaining, high-flying match as you might expect from these four competitors. Trent ended up picking up the win after hitting the Strong Zero on Komander with Penta and Brian Cage subdued on the outside. 

Powerhouse Hobbs & Don Callis

Wardlow Squashes Again

Wardlow squashed Evan Daniels in under a minute. The referee stopped the match as Wardlow was going for multiple powerbombs. 

Dax Harwood vs. Rush

This was a long, hard-hitting affair between these two competitors in tomorrow night’s Tag Team Championship Ladder Match. Ricky Starks was on commentary here with Big Bill standing behind him at ringside which eventually led to Rush getting in Starks’ face. Starks then ran in and speared Rush and the referee called for the bell. The other participants in tomorrow’s match ran down to the ring to join the fracas as the announcers told us “Tony Khan has informed us this match has been thrown out” despite Starks clearly attacking Rush, meaning Dax Harwood should have won via disqualification. At this point, everything devolved into a huge pull-apart brawl between all eight men.

 

 

 

Action and The Kingdom

Buddy Matthews vs. Wheeler Yuta

Next up, Buddy Matthews took on Blackpool Combat Club’s Wheeler Yuta who was out without accompaniment. The announce team brought up the Continental Classic seemingly indicating that the winner of the match could enter the upcoming tournament. This was another hard-hitting match with a number of brutal-looking spots. Buddy Matthews scored the pinfall with the Curb Stomp. Matthews then went to get a chair when Claudio Castagnoli ran out to make the save. Claudio then challenged Buddy to a match which Buddy accepted.

Main Event

The main event of Collision saw The Outcasts Saraya and Ruby Soho taking on TBS Champion Kris Statlander and AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida. Angelo Parker showed up at ringside during the match wearing a Ruby Soho shirt which distracted Ruby allowing Statlander to gain the advantage. Later he made his way into the ringside area grabbing onto Ruby’s face until Statlander leveled him with Saraya looking upset from the ring. This allowed Shida to hit the Katana for the pinfall victory. 

MJF Sits Down with Tony Schiavone

After the main event, they aired a sit-down interview with MJF.
