New Japan’s Super Junior Tag League has a three-way tie in the B Block heading into the tournament’s final weekend.
Friday’s show in Gifu in front of 921 was the penultimate set of round-robin matches in the block and produced a three-way tie involving YOH & Hyo, Lee Johnson & Blake Christian, and Kosei Fujita & Robbie Eagles with six points each.
The three teams won their matches on Friday, including a main event of Fujita & Eagles defeating Francesco Akira & Jakob Austin Young of the United Empire. The story was Akira and Young being on different pages to emphasize the leadership divides in the group. Fujita hit the Thrill Ride on Young and led to the United Empire’s elimination from the tag league.
YOH & Hyo defeated Titán & Daiki Nagai after the 3K was hit on Nagai. The loss sent Titán & Daiki to a record of 0-4.
The Swirl of Blake Christian & Lee Johnson remained alive with a win against SHO & Dick Togo, with the House of Torture members trying to play spoiler. Christian hit Brainrot on Togo to get the pin and two points.
The final A Block matches go down on Saturday with three teams alive in the block. KUSHIDA & Nick Wayne vs. Robbie X & Taiji Ishimori is the top match, with the Unbound Company guaranteed a spot in the final if they win. If Wayne & KUSHIDA win, they will only win the block if DOUKI & Yoshinobu Kanemaru lose their match to Master Wato & KUUKAI.
