There reportedly will be a shake-up to WWE’s creative and writing leadership following WrestleMania 43.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported on Monday that WWE’s Executive Director – Creative Writing & Talent, Bruce Prichard, is expected to retire from his position at WrestleMania 43 next year. While he is departing from his full-time position at the company, the expectation is that he will remain connected with WWE as a consultant and work from home in Texas.
On Thursday, PWInsider, citing multiple sources, reported that current head of NXT and Senior Vice President of Talent Development, Shawn Michaels, will step into Prichard’s role. Michaels, 61, is a close friend of WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque and has been in his NXT role since September 2021.
PWInsider added that this succession plan had been in place for some time and that Michaels will start to prepare for his new role months in advance.
