Khan voices his displeasure with the varying reactions.

Taking to his X account, AEW President Tony Khan tweeted that there’s a double standard as far as the online reactions to HOOK aiming for the AEW World Title and Jinder Mahal challenging for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Khan noted that HOOK has a 28-1 record and is on a winning streak but there was outrage about him calling out the champion. He pointed out that Mahal has lost every match he’s been in the past year, has a title match set for the next edition of Raw and there was no outrage.

He followed up by replying to a comment from the USA Network X account, which referenced a past comment that Khan made on the Worlds End media call about how AEW and ROH shows are doing great on Cagematch. Below are Khan’s posts:

A double standard:

@730hook
28-1 career record, on winning streak calls out the Champ, a logical challenge sparks online outrage

Jinder has literally lost every single match he’s in for the past year, immediately gets title shot, where is the rage

#AEWDynamite TOMORROW on TBS

The reply to the USA Network tweet:

A moral victory for USA is one win more than their World Title challenger Jinder Mahal has in the past 364 days… because it’s been literally a full year since he won a match.
You really put AEW in our place getting Jinder Mahal in a big match on your tv show. Do it more often

AEW World Champion Samoa Joe has yet to respond to HOOK’s call-out, but he’ll be present on the Homecoming edition of Dynamite 1/10.
