Ethan Page becomes NXT Champion at Heatwave, Joe Hendry’s face flashes on-screen to close PLE

A new champion in NXT.

On the marquee for the NXT Heatwave Premium Live Event was a Fatal 4-Way for the NXT Championship. Trick Williams put the title on the line against Je’Von Evans in addition to Canada’s own Ethan Page and Shawn Spears.

Towards the final stretch of the match, Williams had back-and-forth strike exchanges with Evans and Page. His exchange with Evans sent the youngest competitor in the match to the mat.

Williams would deliver a knee strike to Page which dropped him onto Evans. Spears pulled Williams out of the ring and as that was happening, the referee was counting Evans for a three count as Page was on top of him.

Ethan Page is now the new NXT Champion in his fourth match in WWE. While Page was celebrating, the face of TNA’s Joe Hendry flashed on the screen then the show went off the air.

Hendry competed in a 25-man Battle Royal in June for a shot at the NXT Title at Heatwave. He was eliminated early in the bout.
