WWE Raw remained among the top ten programs on Netflix in Canada while Impact Wrestling saw growth among its core demo for the live episode from San Antonio.
The past week’s numbers for Canadian wrestling programming are in and we start with Raw’s performance on Netflix.
The streamer reported its latest quarterly earnings this week and has eclipsed 300 million worldwide subscribers including 18.9 million sign-ups in the fourth quarter of 2024. Along with the earnings release, it has announced price increases for several regions including Canada. This will see the ad tier increase to $7.99 per month (a $2 increase) and the standard plan increase by $2.50 to $18.99 per month. Premium subscribers of Netflix will encounter a $3 hike to $23.99 monthly.
The price increase comes one week before WWE’s first premium live event will air on Netflix (outside of the U.S.) for select international markets.
The January 13 episode of Raw from San Jose ranked sixth among the Top 10 Shows in Canada. It was the same ranking as the premiere episode held in the country one week prior.
Raw ranked behind American Primeval, XO, Kitty: Season 2, Squid Game: Season 2, Jerry Springer: Fights, Camera, Action; and The Breakthrough among the Canadian rankings for TV shows.
Raw ranked among the top ten in seven countries during the week.
SmackDown and NXT were not among the top ten programs in Canada.
DYNAMITE ATTRACTS LARGEST AUDIENCE SINCE AUGUST
AEW Collision from this past Saturday averaged 60,000 viewers and 40,000 in the 25-54 demographic on the USA Network.
Those figures are declines of 13% in overall viewership and 17% in the demo.
It aired head-to-head with the UFC 311 preliminary fights on Sportsnet 360, which averaged 8,000 viewers and 6,000 in the demographic.
The prelims from the Intuit Dome were headlined by Raoni Barcelos dominating Payton Talbott over fifteen minutes and cruising to a decision win as the largest underdog on the card.
This past Wednesday, AEW Dynamite from Knoxville drew an audience of 122,900 viewers and 72,400 in the 25-54 demo.
It was a great set of figures for Dynamite as the show posted its largest audience in Canada since August 7 and increased by 37% from the previous week.
LIVE EDITION OF IMPACT SETS HIGH MARK IN DEMO
Impact Wrestling followed the Genesis pay-per-view with its first live edition of the show since 2016 with a show from San Antonio, Texas.
Impact aired live on Sportsnet 360 and attracted an audience of 31,000 viewers and 26,000 in the 25-54 demographic, which is a sizable percentage among the demo.
This would be Impact’s second-largest audience on Sportsnet 360 and the highest figure it has achieved in the demo since migrating to the sports network earlier this month.
Next week, we will have all the latest Canadian viewership statistics, and we’ll have an overview of all programming throughout the first month of 2025.
