Guerrero Jr. wishes there would have been more seasons of the show.

In 2022, VICE TV rolled out their new Tales from the Territories series. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Dany Garcia’s Seven Bucks Productions co-created the series with VICE.

Among the executive producers on board was Chavo Guerrero Jr. As he was doing a virtual signing for K & S WrestleFest, he said the show was only penciled in to be one-season, but wishes more had been created. Guerrero Jr. added that he liked it better than Dark Side of the Ring.

Well, I also created the Tales from the Territories with Dwayne Johnson and Seven Bucks Production company. They were great, right? So we created that. I wish we would have gotten more seasons out of it. I thought it was an excellent idea. But, I got a few things, starting work in March. I can’t really talk about ‘em yet, but there’s some good wrestling scenes and some feature films… Tales of the Territories, as of now, was a one-season. It was great, wasn’t it? Well, what we were trying to accomplish was, okay, we’ve heard of the Dark Side of the Ring, right? Everybody harps on the crappy things about wrestling, the dark side. That’s like five percent. 95 percent of wrestling is awesome, and that’s what we were trying to portray in Tales from the Territories was all the great stories. The fun stories that I grew up with. Talking about André the Giant and Ric Flair and all these really cool, cool stories that these guys had and reenact them. I was really proud of it. I thought it was great… I did too, I did too (like it better than Dark Side of the Ring).

The sixth season of Dark Side of the Ring is kicking off on March 25th.
