Forthcoming match announcements

  • TBS Championship: Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Harley Cameron at Grand Slam Australia
  • AEW Trios Championships: The Death Riders (c) vs. The Undisputed Kingdom at AEW Dynamite, February 12th

** After a welcome from Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness, a security guard flew past the screen. The camera panned back to reveal Marina Shafir and Jon Moxley.

** Moxley took to the ring and cut a promo on Adam Copeland, saying he refused to give him a title shot. However, he added that he would fight him at what he called “Collision” in Australia.

Three-Way Trios Match: Angelo Parker, Daniel Garcia & Matt Menard vs. The Undisputed Kingdom vs. Shane Taylor Promotions

** As you’d expect in a nine-man match, this was a frenetic, all-action affair, and a lot of fun. Matt Menard spent a decent amount of the early going joining the announce table instead of standing with his team on the ring apron.

Shane Taylor Promotions dominated the first half of the match until the Undisputed Kingdom entered the fray. From there, an all-out brawl erupted. Adam Cole won the match after pinning Carlie Bravo.

** Just as the bell sounded, PAC, Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli attacked. The Trios Champs got the upper hand but the Undisputed Kingdom chased them off. Adam Cole challenged The Death Riders to a Trios Title match on the February 12th episode of Dynamite. This was almost immediately confirmed with a match graphic.

** Backstage, Max Caster said his open challenge would continue on Dynamite.

$200,000 Bounty Match: Bandido vs. Bryan Keith

** A very solid return for Bandido, who won a competitive match with Keith. Chris Jericho’s $200,000 investment is safe.

** Powerhouse Hobbs was backstage with Lexi Nair. He challenged Big Bill to a match on the next episode of Dynamite.

La Faccion Ingobernable (Rush, Dralistico & The Beast Mortos) vs. Ares Alexander, Jay Alexander & Brick Savage

A quick squash match won by Rush. The heels beat down their opponents after the bell when Komander ran to the ring. LFI were about to pull off Komander’s mask when the lights went out and a Hologram video aired. He joined Komander and cleared the ring.

Harley Cameron’s Halftime in Houston Show

** Harley regaled the crowd with her song, ‘The Moné Train’, but was quickly interrupted by Mercedes Moné. Harley began a second song to taunt Moné. Mercedes cut her off and said she was talented but wasn’t on her level.

Harley said she wanted nothing more that to face Moné in Australia for the TBS Title. Moné slapped Harley, who responded by hitting her with the mic. Moné accepted the title match.

Dustin Rhodes vs. Izzy James

The quickest of squash matches. After the win, Rhodes cut a promo on MJF. He said he would drag his opponent to hell, where he would meet the devil. He also called MJF a bitch.

Thunder Rosa vs. Penelope Ford

** Rosa came out with El Toro, the mascot of the Houston Texans, who was almost as over as Rosa during the match. A competitive match, ultimately won by Rosa with the Tijuana Bomb. After the match, Megan Bayne’s music played and out she came. Bayne and Rosa faced off, allowing Ford to attack. Bayne then hoisted Rosa onto her shoulders and planted her.

** Lexi Nair was backstage with rapper Bun B, who owns Trill Burgers. Ricochet tried one of his hamburgers and called it trash. When a “burger vendor” (obviously a local talent) said that people liked them, Ricochet angrily yanked him onto a table.

Mariah May vs. Shay KarMichael

** Mariah May made short work of her opponent, who was dressed as ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm in an “exhibition match”.

Luther then came out with a tray. He revealed the bloody shoe that May had used to attack Storm. As Mariah turned around, the real Toni Storm was in the ring. Mariah made her escape and Toni climbed onto Luther’s shoulders.

** Backstage, Mark Davis joined Brian Cage and Lance Archer in attacking random folks.

Mark Briscoe vs. Kyle Fletcher

** A worthy main event for the show, with Briscoe, who was bleeding in no time,  giving his all, as ever. Fletcher’s ascent continued with a commanding heel presence.

The fans, who had been in excellent form all night, went crazy as Briscoe hit a Froggy Bow from the ropes to Fletcher through a table. Another Froggy Bow in the ring led to a huge near-fall. But Fletcher would ultimately prevail.
