Malakai Black is reportedly no longer with AEW.

The former AEW World Trios Champion and House of Black leader’s contract expired on Sunday, per a recent report from PWInsider.

Black is also no longer listed on AEW’s official roster page, further confirming his departure. A screencap taken by The Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine shows that he was listed on the site as recently as last week.

Black first joined AEW in mid-2021, switching over to the company shortly after wrapping up a WWE run. He formed House of Black alongside Brody King early in his stint with the promotion, later also adding Buddy Matthews and Julia Hart to the group. The faction has continued to operate without Black in recent weeks.

Black notably held the trios titles alongside King and Matthews for 175 days in 2023, dethroning The Elite at Revolution and defending the titles eight times before losing to Billy Gunn and The Acclaimed at All In London.

Black appeared on a dozen AEW pay-per-view broadcasts during his stint with the promotion, including a Barbed Wire Steel Cage match against Adam Copeland last year and a four-way for the AEW All-Atlantic Championship at the promotion’s first-ever Forbidden Door event.
