The Streets of Sacramento

The show starts with MJF outside of the arena where he talks about ‘Hangman’ Adam Page poking the devil, and what he did to Christopher Daniels is light work. MJF says Page has him feeling ‘hungry’, and if he wants to fight him he’s in the streets of Sacramento and isn’t hard to find. He ends by saying he’s got a bullet with Hangman’s name on it.

Revolution Contract Signing

Tony Schiavone is in the ring and brings out Swerve Strickland with Prince Nana for the contract signing for his match with Ricochet at Revolution this Sunday. Ricochet comes out wearing a Philadelphia Eagles hat again, but not the Jimmy Rave robe. Schiavone asks where the robe is, and Ricochet tells him not to worry about it as it’s his robe, and everybody will see it on Sunday as it’s getting some ‘modifications’ which upsets Nana. Ricochet makes a joke about Swerve’s house getting burned down again, so Swerve tells him to just sign the contract. Ricochet says Swerve is lucky that he’s giving him a rematch because he should be done with him. Ricochet says that he’s focused on Jon Moxley, Cope, and being the AEW World Champion before he goes and signs the contract. Swerve says on Sunday he will expose Ricochet for the coward that he is, and the biggest mistake he made was leaving Swerve breathing. He says Ricochet will be remembered for two things; Swerve resurrecting his career and his announcer wife. As Swerve goes to leave, Ricochet goes to stab him with a pair of scissors but Swerve blocks him and uses his own pair of scissors on Ricochet.

They show a video that starting with this Sunday’s AEW Revolution, their pay-per-views will be available live on Prime Video to purchase.

Will Ospreay, Powerhouse Hobbs & The Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe & Orange Cassidy) vs. Bryan Keith & The Don Callis Family (Brian Cage, Lance Archer & Mark Davis)

Don Callis went and joined the commentary table, as Brian Cage & Will Ospreay started the match, but Mark Briscoe quickly tags in and uses his Redneck Kung Fu on Cage. The babyfaces start taking turns punching Cage in their corner, with Orange Cassidy only hitting one punch instead of the usual ten. Lance Archer tags in and takes control over Orange as we head to the commercial.

When we return, Callis is attacking Orange on the outside as the referee is distracted. The heels stay on top of Orange, but he eventually fights off Mark Davis with a Stundog Millionaire before making the hot tag to Powerhouse Hobbs. The Murder Machines start double-teaming on Hobbs, but he’s able to take them both down with a double clothesline. The babyfaces start ganging up on Davis in the corner before Orange hits an elbow drop off of Hobbs’s shoulders, but Bryan Keith is there to break up the count. Everybody goes at it, taking turns on each other including a Tornado DDT from Orange to Case on the outside. Archer brings a chair into the ring, but Briscoe palm strikes it away from him and uses the chair to dive onto the Murder Machines on the outside. Ospreay follows with the Os Cutter and the Hidden Blade on Keith to pick up the win.

Winners: Will Ospreay, Powerhouse Hobbs, Orange Cassidy & Mark Briscoe by pinfall at 15:06

As soon as the match ends, Davis puts Ospreay in a sleeper hold while the Murder Machines continue to attack the rest of his teammates, including power bombing Hobbs onto the steel steps. Kyle Fletcher enters the ring and joins them in attacking Ospreay. Davis tries to pull Fletcher off, but Fletcher tells him he doesn’t tell him what to do, know his place and to do what he’s told. Fletcher tells Davis to attack Ospreay with the chair, which he does. Fletcher then puts Ospreay through a chair with a brainbuster.

Wheeler Yuta vs. Cope

We see Wheeler Yuta making his entrance, all alone, through the front doors of the Auditorium as he is the last standing member of the Death Riders, not including Jon Moxley. To the commentary team’s surprise, Cope starts the match by going for lock-ups. They start trading pins and arm drags next, before taking it to the outside as Cope has the upper hand going into commercials.

When we come back, they are going at it until Cope hits the Impaler but Yuta blocks the Spear attempt by hitting a Busaiku Knee knocking Cope to the outside, but by the time he brings him back inside he only gets a two-count. Yuta puts on the Cattle Mutilation, but Cope gets out and hits the Spear to get the pin and the win.

Winner: Cope by pinfall at 11:33

Cope grabs a mic, shakes Yuta’s hand before saying ‘This is what respect feels like’ and leaves.

Respect

Jon Moxley enters the ring and starts yelling at Yuta at what just happened asking ‘What the hell was that?’ and starts pushing Yuta around. The crowd starts chanting for Yuta, who shoves off Moxley and leaves. Moxley starts following him through the back, tells Yuta to keep walking, and threatens him if he sees him again. Moxley talks into the camera and says he’s going to be all alone at Revolution. He says Cope ‘won’ and he got to him, by pissing him off, distracting him, wasting his time, and bringing the worst out of him. He says Cope is going to do nothing to him at Revolution, and he’s going to enjoy every second of beating his ass. He says there is no respect in this business, and he’s the only guy that gets that. You get respect one way when people know you are willing to pull the trigger, and at Revolution, he only has to pull the trigger once.

We see a music video for The Outrunners called ‘You Are Not Alone’ from 1987, showing them training for their AEW World Tag Team Title match at Revolution against The Hurt Syndicate.

The Main Character

We go back to MJF outside who is still waiting for Adam Page, as Renee Paquette shows up. MJF says Page is a coward and on Sunday he will prove that the main character in AEW is MJF. We see Page show up in his truck as MJF runs away. Page catches up to MJF and drags him ringside, just to reveal it was a fake MJF who screams ‘He made me do it’. The real MJF shows up and attacks Page, but as Page tries the Buckshot Lariat in the ring, MJF puts his knees up and takes out Page with the Heatseeker before revealing his shirt that says ‘MJF Did Nothing Wrong’. Security tries to stop MJF, but he takes them out, puts on his Dynamite Diamond Ring, and knocks out Page with it. MJF gets on the mic and says these people love it when Page burns things, so let’s see how they feel when he does it. MJF grabs lighter fluid from under the ring and pours it all over Page. Before he can light Page on fire, more than a dozen security and referees come out to carry MJF away. As MJF is getting dragged away he yells to let him prove his point and calls everyone hypocrites.

When we return, Excalibur says that AEW doesn’t condone what MJF just did and they won’t show a replay of it.

Queen of the Ring

Lexy Nair is in the back with Ash Avildsen, the director & writer of Queen of the Ring as he talks about the movie before bringing in Toni Storm. Storm talks about her nude scene being cut as Avidsen tells her that it’s a PG-13 movie.

Kris Statlander & Thunder Rosa vs. Penelope Ford & Megan Bayne

This match is presented by ‘Queen of the Ring’, with no mention of another AEW star in the movie in Kamille. Kris Statlander & Penelope Ford start the match, but Thunder Rosa quickly gets tagged in as the babyfaces keep Ford in their corner and quickly tag in and out. Megan Bayne enters and tosses Rosa right into Statlander on the outside, before going and launching Ford onto them as well as we head to commercial.

When we come back Statlander is in control fighting off both Ford & Bayne before tagging out to Rosa. Rosa & Statlander start double-teaming on Bayne, but Ford is able to knock Statlander off the top rope. Rosa starts fighting off Ford & Bayne next, but Bayne catches Rosa right into her F5 finisher she now calls ‘Fates Descent’ to pick up the pin and the win.

Winners: Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford by pinfall at 9:55

Renee is in the back with Mercedes Mone as Mone brings up how the last time she faced Momo Watanabe, Mercedes beat her and there’s no stopping the Mone Train. Renee asks Mercedes for her prediction on Momo’s match against Serena Deeb on Collision and says that Deeb will break her for her.

Max Caster makes his way to the ring for what Excalibur says Tony Khan told him was a ‘standby match’. Caster talks about being the most talked about wrestler in AEW and tells the crowd to chant ‘Let’s Go, Max, You’re The Best Wrestler Alive’, which doesn’t seem to catch on. Caster says they call this Sac-Town since everybody is a bunch of ball bags, before asking who can survive the Best Wrestler Alive, as Jay White’s music hits.

Max Caster vs. Jay White

Max Caster tries to get his chant started again, but Jay White catches him right into the Blade Runner to get the quick pin and win.

Winner: Jay White by pinfall at 0:40

Jay White talks about having Cope’s back and this Sunday he will be there to see the new AEW World Champion in Cope.

What Happened to Mariah May?

Renee is in the back with a sit-down with both Toni Storm and Mariah May and thanks them for agreeing to no physicality, but right away May spits in Storm’s face and says that she created all of this. Renee blames May for starting all this, as May says Storm is nothing without her and the title is nothing without her. There is no surviving her at Revolution, as they will both go down together. She says she will be the sickest bitch Storm will ever see and Storm knows that ‘Mariah did it better’. May starts getting emotional and says they can have the Hollywood Ending they always dreamed of. Storm starts talking May down and says she will be replaced, forgotten and years from now people will ask what happened to Mariah May.

Ricochet & Kazuchika Okada vs. Brody King & Swerve Strickland (w/ Prince Nana)

Swerve Strickland & Kazuchika Okada start the match, as the crowd is fully behind Swerve. Ricochet asks to be tagged in, as he and Okada start double-teaming on Swerve as Rick Knox is holding back Brody King. Brody starts attacking Okada on the outside before Swerve sends Ricochet and does the same. Brody whips Swerve right into Ricochet before Okada accidentally lands on Ricochet and gets squashed by a Brody crossbody. Ricochet & Swerve end up back in the ring with Ricochet in control as we head to commercials.

We return at 10:01, as Ian Riccaboni luckily tells us that Tony Khan said this will continue as long as the match goes. Brody hits a Death Valley Driver on Okada, but Ricochet is there to break it up. Swerve tags in and goes after Ricochet. They start going back and forth until Ricochet lands a DDT for a two-count. Swerve comes back with a Flatliner and the House Call, before hitting the Swerve Stomp. As he goes for the pin, Okada breaks it up with a top-rope elbow drop. Brody & Okada go at it next, but Okada dodges the cannonball in the corner. Okada tries to use his Continental Title but Swerve takes him out. As Rick Knox is distracted by Brody & Okada on the outside, Ricochet knocks out Swerve with the title belt to get the pin and the win.

Winners: Ricochet & Kazuchika Okada by pinfall at 14:29
