She tweeted about it before the heel turn happened.
NXT TakeOver: Chicago 2017 was headlined by #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) challenging The Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar) for the NXT Tag Team Championships.
DIY were unsuccessful with their challenge and the two embraced one another on the entrance stage to close the show, but Ciampa then turned on Gargano and beat him down.
Days prior to the show, singer Hope Vista tweeted that she would be recording lead vocals for Johnny Gargano’s theme. The tweet was soon deleted.
For the first time in eight years, Vista addressed the situation when answering a question on her Instagram Story. She noted that she was asked to record vocals for Gargano’s ‘Rebel Heart’ theme by a producer she knew who was working with CFO$. She was scheduled to record it the next day, but she posted the aforementioned tweet.
She was then informed by friends of hers that her name was all over wrestling news sites because she ‘spoiled a tag team breakup.’ Vista noted that she truly had no idea what was happening and was just excited to share the news.
The producer then messaged her and was kind about the situation, but they agreed that she would be removed from the project to further prevent anymore spoilers from coming out. She added that it is not her voice on the ‘Rebel Heart’ track and does not know the person who did it.
She did hear the demo ahead of time and thought highly of it. She closed her post with the following, “If you want to have a laugh, Google ‘Hope Vista Johnny Gargano’ and see the stories. 20 something year old Hope learned an important lesson real quick.”
