The headlining bout of AEW Dynamite: SpringThru saw Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs and Katsuyori Shibata defeat the Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta) for the World Trios Championships. Joe submitted AEW World Champion Jon Moxley to get the win. On the 4/17 edition of Collision, Moxley issued a challenge to Joe and stated that he’d put the title on the line.
FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) sent in a letter to Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness that Schiavone read live. Harwood addressed FTR’s run-in with Schiavone and McGuinness during which they set up Schiavone for a piledriver but McGuinness stepped in to defend him. Harwood wrote that he would not have actually gone through with the piledriver. He added that he did not want to get physical with Nigel. Harwood then insulted the former ROH World Champion and said he’s mentally and physically weak and could never beat up FTR.
There was an open challenge for Adam Cole’s TNT Championship and answering the call was Claudio Castagnoli. Cole was able to retain and post-match, Castagnoli wrecked the ringside area and it was the Death Riders who came out to calm him down.
Scheduled for the 4/26 Collision is the following:
- Hologram returns
- Tornado Tag Team Match: Lio Rush & Action Andretti vs. Top Flight (Darius Martin & Dante Martin) (w/ Leila Grey)
