The combination of airing live on the West Coast and against playoff competition led to AEW Dynamite falling to its lowest audience of the year.

The April 23 episode from New Orleans averaged 521,000 viewers and 187,000 viewers (0.14) in the 18-49 demographic.

It was a 17% decline in overall viewership and a 16% loss among the key demographic from last week’s Spring BreakThru edition of the show. It was the lowest overall audience since June 19, 2024, and the lowest 18-49 audience since March 5, 2025.

The show ranked seventh among cable originals in prime-time, which were led by the NBA & NHL playoffs. Dynamite aired against the Orlando Magic vs. Miami Heat (2,237,000 viewers and 0.68 in 18-49) on TNT, Washington Capitals vs. Montreal Canadiens (815,000 and 0.24) on ESPN, and Miami Heat vs. Cleveland Cavaliers (492,000 and 0.18) while also trailing Summer House on Bravo, and two programs on Fox News.

Dynamite was also hurt airing live on the West Coast at 5 p.m. local time. This led to Dynamite posting its second-lowest overall viewership and 18-49 audience in its regular time slot, ever.

In the 18-49 demographic, males dropped by 18% this week, and females experienced a 10% drop-off from last week.

Adults 18-34 saw a major drop from 96,000 viewers last week to 52,00,0, or a 46% decline. It was the lowest audience in the demo since March 5.

Adults 35-49 avoided the trend with a slight increase of 7% from 126,000 viewers last week to 135,000.

Unlike its usual format, there was no overrun for this week’s episode, which was headlined by Jamie Hayter defeating Kris Statlander in the Owen Hart Cup Foundation tournament.
