Jakara Jackson has stated her intention to continue her professional wrestling career.
The announcement follows her release from WWE, which occurred on May 2nd.
The 30-year-old, real name Jamara Garrett, shared her future plans and reflections on her release in a video posted to her personal YouTube channel on Saturday.
In the video, Jakara, who asked to be addressed as “Miss Jackson,” expressed gratitude for her period with WWE.
“I’m very very grateful and appreciative for my time in WWE,” she said. She acknowledged the emotional side of her departure, stating, “Of course, there are upsetting factors. Of course, it hurt.” However, she maintained a positive outlook on her next steps.
“I just want to let you know as well that this is not over for me,” she said. When directly addressing her future in the ring, she confirmed:
Yes, I definitely want to continue wrestling… Wrestling, I’m definitely going to continue, so you will be seeing me, so keep your eyes peeled and stay tuned because the transformation is going to be something serious.
She also outlined specific goals she still aims to achieve in wrestling.
My bucket list moment… what is still on my bucket list was having a storyline I could sink my teeth into and show depth in my character. Also holding a title… I want to hold gold, so that’s definitely going to continue to be my goal.
Beyond wrestling, she indicated an interest in pursuing acting opportunities, remarking, “The sky’s the limit at this point.”
Jackson has only ever wrestled inside the WWE system, having been signed to a developmental contract after a tryout in August 2021.
