Jeff Cobb made his WWE debut during the US Title match that opened WWE Backlash on Saturday.
Cobb appeared at the conclusion of the match alongside Solo Sikoa, and attacked LA Knight, allowing Fatu to score the pinfall and retain his championship.
The fatal four-way match also involved Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest.
McIntyre and Priest fought atop an equipment case, ending with both men crashing through a table after Priest managed to hit the South of Heaven chokeslam.
This left Knight and Fatu brawling at ringside. Knight seemed set for a big leap onto Fatu, who was laid out on the announce desk. At this point, Solo Sikoa appeared and pulled Fatu to safety.
Then, Cobb emerged and destroyed LA Knight, leaving him easy pickings for Fatu. The champion looked at Cobb with suspicion after the match.
Fatu won the title at WrestleMania Saturday on April 19th, in a win over LA Knight.
