AEW’s Kevin Knight and Nick Wayne clashed on Saturday on day 5 of the NJPW Best of the Super Juniors tournament.

Knight got his first win of the competition by pinning the previously undefeated Nick Wayne.

At the end of the B Block encounter, Knight countered the Wayne’s World into a DDT and then scored the pin after a UFO Splash.

Saturday’s event took place at Yoyogi 2nd National Stadium Gymnasium in Sibuya.

Saturday’s tournament matches began with Master Wato moving to 4 points in the A Block by submitting Ninja Mack. Following this, B Block action saw Ryusuke Taguchi use his Dodon finisher to defeat YOH.

Veteran Yoshinobu Kanemaru then gained an A Block victory over Francesco Akira, bringing both wrestlers to 4 points.

B Block action continued with SHO, with the aid of interference and a wrench, defeating Robbie Eagles. This result moved both SHO and Eagles to 4 points.

In the A Block, Clark Connors evened his score with Robbie X. Both now sit on 4 points. Titán then secured a comeback win in B Block over Taiji Ishimori.

Still in the A Block, KUSHIDA handed Kosei Fujita his first loss of the tournament, winning a technical match with Back to the Future.

The All Elite B Block match followed, with Kevin Knight earning his first 2 points by defeating Nick Wayne, who, despite the loss, remains co-leader on 6 points.

Back in the A Block, Dragon Dia pinned former BOSJ winner Hiromu Takahashi. The win propelled Dia to 6 points, making him a co-leader of the A Block, while Takahashi stays on 2 points.

The main event was a chaotic B Block encounter that saw El Desperado meet MAO for the first time in a singles match. Referee Red Shoes took a bump, allowing both men to blast each other with plastic boxes. Desperado eventually won with the Pinche Loco, leaving both men with 4 points.
