See You in Phoenix

Monday Night Raw from Greensville, SC, kicked off with Logan Paul cutting a promo about how he would defeat Jey Uso for the World Heavyweight Championship this Saturday, and he won a single title twelve years faster than Jey Uso. Paul was interrupted by Gunther, who got a big pop from the Greenville crowd, but got a loud “you tapped out” chant shortly thereafter. Gunther called Logan Paul “confident,” but he wants to beat Jey Uso for the title, and if Paul takes that away from him, he will eat Paul alive on June 9th in Phoenix. Gunther stormed off Jey Uso appeared from behind Paul and delivered a superkick, saying he would see Paul Saturday and Gunther in Phoenix.

Later backstage, Jey Uso ran into Paul Heyman, who said that Bron Breakker is not looking for Jey’s title; he’s looking to slow down his momentum. Jey Uso, Logan Paul, and Gunther are all “short-term,” and the long-term plan is “Seth Freakin’ Rollins.”

Later, Seth Rollins approached Logan Paul in the back and told him that Jey Uso would not be 100% come Saturday (thanks to Breakker). If Paul can get past Jey and Gunther, he’ll be waiting for him on the other side, and they can run it back from Wrestlemania a few years ago, except with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line this time.

AJ Styles & Penta vs. Finn Balor & JD McDonagh

The first match of the evening saw AJ Styles teaming with Penta to take on Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and JD McDonagh. The face team dominated the early portion of the match with Styles and Penta hitting stereo dives to the outside as the show went to break. AJ Styles then captured Finn Balor in the Calf Crusher when McDonagh attempted to make the save by hitting a splash off the top rope, but inadvertently hit Balor instead. Carlito then got involved, throwing Styles into the ring post.

Penta then got the hot tag and avoided the Coup de Grace, countering with a series of high-flying maneuvers. McDonagh then distracted the referee by trying to bring a chair into the ring, but Carlito couldn’t capitalize. Penta then hit a Mexican Destroyer on McDonagh on the outside and was headbutted (with a metal plate inside his mask) from behind by El Grande Americano, who appeared in the crowd. Balor then rolled Penta back into the ring, hitting the Coup de Grace for the pinfall victory.

Money in the Bank Qualifier #1

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviewed Iyo SKY when Becky Lynch interrupted, saying she’d already put down one champion and had no problem putting down another. This led directly into the first Money in the Bank Qualifying Match of the night, with Becky Lynch taking on Roxanne Perez and Natalya. Lynch immediately attempted heel tactics as the crowd chanted “Let’s Go Becky”. Perez then took control with a dive onto both of her opponents on the outside. Perez then went for the Pop Rox on Becky but missed as Becky hit the Manhandle Slam, but Natalya broke up the pinfall. Perez then hit a Pop Rox off the top onto Natalya, who also hit Lynch with a German Suplex simultaneously. Natalya then applied a double Sharpshooter to both Perez and Lynch. Lyra Valkyria then appeared, attacking Becky Lynch. Perez finally hit Pop Rox on Natalya to pick up the win and head to Money in the Bank.

Sami’s Got It

Backstage, Sami Zayn told Jey Uso that he’s got Jey’s back if the numbers game comes into play in his match against Bron Breakker later tonight.

Adam Pearce’s Revolving Door

Backstage, Tozawa and Maxxine asked Adam Pearce for a match against Rusev next week. Chad Gable and Ivy Nile interrupted, saying it would be good to see Alpha Academy put down for good. Gable then asked Pearce for Money in the Bank Qualifying Matches for him and Nile. The New Day interrupted and said they would take care of The Creeds, and no one wanted to see The Viking Raiders win.

Sheamus vs. Grayson Waller

Next up, Sheamus took on Grayson Waller. Sheamus was in control early in the match until he was distracted by Austin Theory at ringside, allowing Waller to gain the advantage. Waller told Theory to take notes as the show went to break. Afterwards, Sheamus decimated Waller with chops to the chest. Sheamus then dropped Waller while attempting a slam on the ring apron in an odd-looking spot. Waller started to leave when Theory stopped him, allowing Sheamus to hit the ten beats of the Bodhrán as Theory laughed. Sheamus then hit the Brogue Kick for the win.

It is worth noting that during one of the other promo segments, Grayson Waller was seen talking to New Day in the background earlier in the night.

Tyrese Haliburton Interview

Footage from earlier in the day was shown, with Michael Cole and Pat McAfee interviewing Indiana Pacer Tyrese Haliburton and announcing that Haliburton would be a playable character in WWE 2K25. They then discussed the Pacers taking on the Knicks and Jalen Brunson, who shared a moment at Madison Square Garden last year. Haliburton said he was rooting for Jey Uso at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Gunther & Freakin’ Seth

Backstage, Seth Rollins approached Gunther and said his work with “his” World Heavyweight Championship was “good stuff”. Gunther said that Seth is pretty short-sighted for a visionary, as he is the future, and he eagerly awaits Rollins’ challenge.

Money in the Bank Qualifier #2

Next was the second of two Money in the Bank Qualifying Matches of the night, with Rhea Ripley taking on Kairi Sane and Zoey Stark. This was Sane’s first match since injuring her hand in December. The crowd was entirely behind Rhea Ripley here, but there were some cheers for Kairi Sane. Then suddenly Zoey Stark was going for a Sniper missile drop kick when she hit Sane awkwardly and immediately grabbed her leg, screaming. The ringside doctor then jumped into the ring, and the show cut to break with Cole saying Stark was seriously injured. (Note: It’s not advisable to watch this replay, it’s near Sid level.)

After the break, Stark had been helped to the back, and the match continued as a one-on-one match between Ripley and Sane. Ripley then hit a huge drop kick on Sane, who was coming off the top rope. The two went back and forth until Ripley hit the Riptide for the win, somewhat out of nowhere. They did their best with the injury, assuming that Zoey Stark was planned to take the pinfall, especially with Kairi Sane making her return.

Rusev Will Forgive Tozawa’s Stupidity

Rusev cut a produced promo saying that if he accepts Tozawa’s challenge for next week, he will forgive his stupidity and then forget his existence.

Roxanne Perez Meets the Judgment Day

Backstage, Finn Balor introduced Roxanne Perez to Judgment Day, saying they needed more numbers but clarifying that she wasn’t a member. Dom said they should check with Liv, but Roxanne produced gifts for Dom and Carlito (chicken nuggets and an apple, respectively). Raquel Rodrigez said that Liv would hear about this.

Main Event: Jey Uso vs. Bron Breakker

The main event of the evening saw World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso take on Bron Breakker in a non-title match. This was the third match between the two competitors, with prior matches being for the Intercontinental Championship. Breakker dominated Uso early in the match, at one point screaming to the crowd that he was “a bum”—this reinvigorated Jey, who started mounting a comeback. Breakker countered by slamming Jey into the announce desk and followed that up with a diving bulldog from the ring apron, with Jey’s head hitting the announce desk. Breakker then went for a high-speed spear, but Uso countered with a Superkick. Something then happened in the crowd, which meant a run-in was coming. Paul Heyman got on the apron as Breakker attempted to enter the ring with a chair, but Jey fought him off. Heyman then grabbed Uso’s foot, and Jey started going after him when Seth Rollins jumped Uso from behind.

Breakker and Rollins double-teamed Jey when Sami Zayn finally showed up, fulfilling his promise from earlier in the night. The crowd chanted for CM Punk, and they got what they wanted with Punk’s music hitting, and Zayn and Punk squaring off with the heels. The four brawled into the crowd as Jey Uso finally recovered in the ring, just for Logan Paul to come out of nowhere and deck him as the show ended.
