An upcoming Amazon Prime Video reboot of American Gladiators will have a cast full of recognizable names for wrestling fans.
Wrestlers with current or past ties to WWE, AEW and TNA will be part of the show, which pits mainstay competitors, known as “Gladiators,” against amateur contestants in athletic battles.
The full list of Gladiators, as revealed this week by The Hollywood Reporter, includes AEW talents Wardlow and Kamille, former TNA Wrestling talent Jessie Godderz, ex-WWE wrestler Eric Bugenhagen (best known as Rick Boogs), and OVW vet Jessica Roden (also known as J-Rod).
It was announced last month that WWE’s The Miz will serve as the host for the show.
American Gladiators first aired in 1989, being a successful syndicated show for over 200 episodes until it finished running in 1996. It returned for a reboot in 2008, having a much shorter run that time around.
The upcoming reboot, the first to bring the series into the streaming era, doesn’t have an expected release date yet.
If you’re curious to see what the show looked like in the past, the series has numerous full episodes currently uploaded online. Maybe soon you’ll see former TNT Champion Wardlow taking someone down in a game of “Powerball.”
