Mercedes Moné’s duties as the CMLL Women’s World Champion will begin tomorrow.
Moné is expected to appear as part of Friday night’s Fantasticamania card in Arena Mexico, a lineup that will see AEW, CMLL and NJPW collaborate all on the same show.
Defending her CMLL belt for the first time, Moné will take on Mexico’s La Catalina on Friday night. The matchup was confirmed Wednesday in a social media post by AEW.

Moné captured her CMLL title on Wednesday’s Dynamite, dethroning Zeuxis in a nine-minute contest via pinfall. The recently earned title is one of the many belts she currently holds, including the TBS Championship and RevPro Women’s title.
Catalina, a 25-year-old who has fought in CMLL since 2023, will be trying for her first belt in the promotion when she appears on Friday. She has appeared numerous times before against AEW talent, having worked six different ROH tapings earlier this year, including title bouts against Athena and Red Velvet.
Tomorrow evening’s Fantasictamania card will be streamed on CMLL’s Youtube channel, available to watch live to the Leyenda-tier subscribers.
