The field for the G1 Climax is set after the latest New Japan Soul event.

NJPW ran its card at the Tokyo Budokan on Friday, featuring the final two “play in” matches to complete the field for this year’s G1 Climax.

Ryohei Oiwa and YOSHI-HASHI clinched their spots in the respective blocks after their wins on Friday.

Oiwa defeated Satoshi Kojima, who replaced Don Fale after a death in Fale’s family forced the performer to go home from the tour. Oiwa joins the A Block and will participate in his first G1, four years after his pro debut.

YOSHI-HASHI beat Chase Owens with Karma to join the B Block and returns to the G1 after missing the 2024 edition.

Last week, Drilla Moloney and Callum Newman won the other “play-in” matches to qualify, and the field is confirmed with twenty participants.

The G1 Climax begins on July 19 and runs until August 17.
