New champions were crowned at the New Japan Soul event at Tokyo Budokan.

Friday’s event drew 1,377 to the venue and saw House of Torture’s Ren Narita, Yujiro & SHO drop the NEVER Openweight six-man tag titles to Master Wato, YOH & Toru Yano.

Yano removed the turnbuckle pad and attacked all three opponents with low blows before using a schoolboy roll-up for the pin.

It marks the seventh time that Yano has won the NEVER Openweight six-man tag titles, ending House of Torture’s five-month reign as champions.

In the main event of Friday’s show, Gabe Kidd retained the IWGP Global Heavyweight championship against Hiroshi Tanahashi after using the Drill-a-Hole piledriver.
