Multi-decade wrestling vet Blue Demon Jr. was hospitalized earlier this week after being involved in a car accident, per an announcement made recently by his team.

Word first got out regarding his injury on Tuesday evening, when prominent Mexican promotion IWRG announced that a car accident had forced him out of an appearance on their card this Thursday.

Later that night, a social media post from Blue Demon Jr. mentioned that, while he remains in intensive care, he is currently in stable condition following a car accident which occurred on Monday.

Blue Demon Jr. is a legend of the Lucha scene, where he has worked since the mid-80s. The 59-year-old, who has put together numerous stints for both AAA and CMLL, has continued to be active in recent years throughout the country’s scene.

He last wrestled on Sunday, working a six-man tag match. Demon Jr. was notably among the Lucha royalty shown at ringside during AAA and WWE’s Worlds Collide event in Los Angeles earlier this year.
