Raymond Rougeau was re-elected as the mayor of Rawdon in Quebec on Sunday.
The former wrestler from the famed family was re-elected on Sunday, defeating David Gendron with 59.1% of the votes going his way, according to Pat Laprade at TVA Sports.
Rougeau, 70, began as a city councillor in 2002 and rose through the ranks to become deputy mayor and elected mayor of Rawdon in November 2021. The city has a population of nearly 12,000, according to the 2021 census.
Rougeau’s team of councillors was also re-elected on Sunday as he enters his second term as mayor.
The son of Jacques Rougeau Sr. and nephew of Johnny Rougeau, he entered the family business in 1971 when he was sixteen years old.
With brother Jacques, the pair left Montreal to join the WWF in 1985 as The Fabulous Rougeaus and were managed by Jimmy Hart. After his wrestling career, he became a broadcaster for the WWF and worked for the company through 2002. He returned in 2017 as a French-language broadcaster with Jean Brassard but left after the premium live events moved to Peacock in 2021.
