Suzu Suzuki walked through a bloody, weapon-heavy path to retain her World of STARDOM Championship on Saturday night.
Going 23 minutes against HATE faction leader Natsuko Tora, Suzuki was able to retain her world title in the main event of STARDOM To The World 2026, which took place at the Yokohama Budokan.
Suzuki, known for her background in deathmatch wrestling, was able to fight within her own wheelhouse this weekend, facing Tora in a no disqualification matchup. However, it didn’t feel like a one-on-one bout at times, as Tora was able to lean on run-in attacks and assistance from HATE teammates to help her regain control of the bout.
The lengthy main event included tons of plunder. Both women were cut open around the forehead early on following the use of a barbed wire baseball bat. Suzuki and Tora took turns using a staple gun on each other at one point, and Suzuki had to battle through a blinding blue mist to the eyes. Chairs, tables and ladders were all utilized as well.
Tora looked as though she was closing in on a huge win late, connecting with a huge Death Valley Driver then wrapping chain around her hand for a lariat. But Suzuki countered the move, connected with her Tequila Shot, then a pair of Bridging German Suplexes.
The champ arranged a pile of chairs in the ring and landed a third Bridging German Suplex, finally earning her the pinfall victory.
Tora, who had a brief 34-day run with the title in 2024, was looking to join a short list of wrestlers to have carried the STARDOM world title twice. Tam Nakano, Mayu Iwatani, and Io Shirai remain the only names who have achieved such an accomplishment.
Saturday was Suzuki’s first time defending the title since STARDOM wrapped up its 5Star Grand Prix tour this summer. Between her showing this week, plus outings against Sayaka Kurara and Utami Hayashishita in June, Suzuki has delivered big performances as champ.
Hanan beats Ami Sohrei to keep Wonder run alive
Hanan had a come-from-behind performance against Ami Sohrei to keep her run as Wonder of STARDOM Champion alive in the co-main event.
The champ took quite the beating early on from Sohrei, who had a hot start to the fight. Hanan would often find an opening and connect with a big move, only to have that momentum thwarted by Sohrei moments later.
The match became much closer in the second half and, by the end, went the way of the champ. After kicking out at one from a powerbomb, Hanan went on a huge run of moves to retain: A bridging fallaway slam, busaiku knee, then a trio of bridging backdrop suplexes for the pinfall victory.
Saturday’s co-main event felt like the best championship showing from Hanan since she captured the belt in April by beating Konami. Previous title matchups included wins over Saya Iida and Bea Priestley.
After the match, Hanan was challenged by HATE’s Ruaka. She accepted the challenge and extended her arm for a handshake, but was instead attacked by Ruaka, who lifted the title before leaving.
Sohrei was aiming to capture her first singles title since her run as Future of STARDOM Champion in 2023.
AZM & Miyu Amasaki turn back HATE’s Saya Kamitani and Momo Watanabe
Before the two top singles titles were put on the line, Neo Genesis’ AZM and Miyu Amasaki successfully retained their tag belts against HATE’s Saya Kamitani and Momo Watanabe in a highly entertaining 22-minute clash.
Dirty tactics from HATE weren’t enough to give the heel duo the tag win. After taking out Amasaki by hitting her in the chest in a baseball bat, Kamitani and Watanabe scored a double-team knee-drop out of the corner to AZM. Watanabe followed up with a Bridging German Suplex, but a pin attempt was stopped by Amasaki.
A pair of Canadian Destroyers from AZM wasn’t enough to end the match, but she was able to seal the deal after a top rope leg drop bulldog followed by her Amethyst Storm submission for the verbal tap-out.
Watanabe and Kamitani were hoping to bring the tag titles back to HATE, as AZM and Amasaki’s reign with the belts started by dethroning Natsuko Tora and Ruaka in April. While Watanabe and Kamitani had held the Artist titles before, they have never carried the titles together, nor have they earned the belts since joining the HATE faction.
Earlier on the card: Triangle of Madness retain, Ranna Yagami keeps Future of STARDOM run alive
AEW’s Triangle of Madness kept their reign as Artist of STARDOM Champions alive this weekend, putting away the Cosmic Angels trio of Aya Sakura, Natsupoi, and Yuna Mizumori. Thekla and the Sisters of Sin had to cheat late in the match, utilizing Thekla’s belt along with a STARDOM title as weapons in the closing sequence. Hart scored the pin after giving Sakura an F5.
The match was a reunion for Thekla and Natsupoi, who were once rivals fighting over the Wonder of STARDOM title in 2024. With Natsupoi scheduled to retire by January, Saturday’s result was one of her last opportunities to put together a title reign.
Thekla looked to once again harass STARDOM President Taro Okada in a post-match segment, as she has done in all of her recent visits to the company. This was prevented by Fuwa-chan, Hazuki, and Koguma, who hit the ring to challenge the champs. In an English promo, Fuwa-chan declared them the next challengers and asked for the Triangle of Madness to give the titles back to STARDOM.
Ranna Yagami retained her Future of STARDOM belt in the first title match of the night, putting away Akira Kurogane with a head kick. Both were working hard to make it a physical, strike-focused bout, and it delivered as one of the highlights of the night.
Yagami has held the Future of STARDOM Championship since March, when she dethroned HANAKO. Saturday was her first time defending the belt since coming back from a brief U.S. excursion, where the title was defended on independent cards in Florida and Texas.
