Will Ospreay retained the AEW Championship to ensure his spot in the Clockwork Carnage match at WrestleDream.

After Grand Slam France, the first two of eight participants are confirmed for Clockwork Carnage, with Will Ospreay and Samoa Joe joining the match. Ospreay retained the title against Kazuchika Okada in front of a raucous crowd at the Adidas Arena in Paris, France. Ospreay kicked out of the Rainmaker, followed by Okada surviving a Hidden Blade and Stormbreaker. Ospreay hit a final Hidden Blade to punch his ticket to the pay-per-view.

Saturday’s edition of Collision will see another qualifying match between Speedball Mike Bailey and Lee Moriarty.

Two additional championship matches have been added to the October 17 pay-per-view as the Continental and Trios championships will be defended.

Mark Davis & Jake Doyle beat Jon Moxley & Gabe Kidd on Tuesday’s episode after Davis used the pendulum piledriver on Kidd. It was immediately stated that Moxley would defend the Continental title against Davis at WrestleDream.

Swerve Strickland & New Level will run it back with Hangman Page & Brodido at the pay-per-view with the champions volunteering to defend the belts in a two-of-three falls match. The two teams had the consensus “match of the night” at All Out on September 26.
