Kento Miyahara retained the Triple Crown in Tokyo on Monday as part of All Japan Pro Wrestling’s Excite Series.

The Triple Crown holder made his fifth defense of his title, defeating Jun Saito in the main event before 2,237 people at Ota City Gymnasium.

Miyahara defeated the former Triple Crown champion with the Shutdown German suplex in a rematch from last September, where Miyahara regained the title.

Kuma Arashi appears to be next in line, appearing after the match to challenge Miyahara. Arashi won the GAORA Television Championship earlier in the night from Daisuke Sekimoto.

AJPW’s tag team champions, Rey Ayabe & Talos, retained their titles against Hideki Suzuki & Suwama on Monday after Ayabe used the Death Roulette on Suzuki.

The promotion’s Zennichi Junior Tag Festival is underway with a pair of opening round matches held in Tokyo. Seiki Yoshioka & Yuya Susumu, and Hikaru Sato & Dan Tamura advanced to the second round on Monday with wins.

The teams join Atsuki Aoyagi & Rising HAYATO and Ryo Inoue & Mochizuki Jr. in the semi-finals, which are set for March 15 at Korakuen Hall. The finals will occur on March 20 in Hachioji.
