Title contract signing

The show started off with a contract signing for the TNA World Title match at Rebellion. Daria Rae said there would be “no chaos, no fighting” before introducing Eddie Edwards and Mike Santana. Edwards got the first words in and noted that he and Santana had similar paths: tag-team wrestlers who were overlooked and had to fight to get their way to the top. However, Edwards said that when times got tough, Santana left, and he stayed. When TNA was a laughing stock, Santana left for greener pastures, and he stayed. He threw in a jab when he said that Santana found out that the “grass doesn’t grow so well in the shadows of the Inner Circle.” Santana retorted by saying that even though he left, his heart was still in TNA. He added that even though he left, Edwards stayed because he was complacent and comfortable. Santana said he bet on himself, turned down more money than Edwards will ever touch and more opportunities than anyone else can have. That’s to become the face of TNA and the TNA World Champion. Things got chippy when Edwards brought up Santana’s daughter, and Santana threw a shot mentioning Alisha leaving to join Moose. Cedric Alexander attacked Santana from behind, and Leon Slater came in for the save, ending with a dive over the corner post.

A.J. hates Cleveland

We got a pre-taped promo from A.J. Francis, who told a story about his agent calling him about playing for the Cleveland Browns while he was training at the Team 3D Academy. He turned it down because that’s how much he hates Cleveland. He said Nic Nemeth took more opportunities away from him than he could publicly admit, so he took away his health. He finished by saying that he’ll take Nemeth out of commission in his hometown in front of his friends, family, and “talentless little brother.”

Jada Stone vs. Dani Luna

Tasha Steelz was on commentary and played an early role when Stone hit a suicide dive and confronted Steelz. That allowed Luna to hit Stone from behind and land a powerbomb on the side apron. Following a commercial break, Stone sent Luna into the corner and landed a leg drop off the second rope, followed up by a split-legged moonsault for a two-count. Luna later countered a hurricanrana into a backbreaker, transitioned into a powerbomb for a nearfall. The finish saw Stone avoid a lariat by doing a backflip into a hurricanrana that sent Luna into the turnbuckle. Stone hit a twisting moonsault for the win. After the match, Steelz attacked Stone from behind, laying her out.

TNA Injury Report

Nic Nemeth, Jody Threat, Tessa Blanchard, and Matt Hardy were featured on the injury report this week.

Cemetary brawl

Elijah was in a New Orleans cemetery, talking about the tradition of burying people above ground. A kid came up to him and asked if he could pray with him in front of his dad’s grave. It turned out that the kid lured Elijah into a trap set up by Frankie Kazarian, who jumped Elija from behind, hitting his head on a tree. Kazarian shorted the kid by paying him $20 instead of the agreed upon $100. He then quoted Romans 12:16 before walking away.

Elegance Brand sends a message

Taryn Terrell came out and said she missed wrestling and was happy to be in her hometown. She noted that her career didn’t end on her terms, and she never said goodbye. Instead, she watched TNA grow and the Knockouts Division evolve. She saw Mickie James put her heart and soul in the ring, only to be disrespected by the Elegance Brand, who came out to interrupt. They mocked Terrell and said they run TNA. The Personal Concierge revealed that James and ODB were laid out backstage. The Elegance Brand attacked Terrell, with Mr. Elegance bodyslamming her, and Nip and Heather and M hitting Nip and Tuck. The Personal Concierge said that at Rebellion, they would bury the past.

Cobra secured

Following a commercial break, we go backstage and find Santino arguing with Stacks and Arianna Grace. Santino and Stacks started fighting, and Grace tried to run away into the women’s locker room. Indi Hartwell provided an assist to check if the locker room was empty. Santino and Hartwell presumably beat up Stacks and Grace, since all that was shown was the door outside. Hartwell gave Santino the Cobra back as they sat in the hallway.

BDE vs. Frankie Kazarian

Ryan Nemeth was on commentary, and this wasn’t much to the match. BDE started hot, but Kazarian countered the Clip Cutter into a backstabber and tapped him out with the chicken win. Nemeth attacked BDE after the match, but the lights went out, and Elijah appeared when they came back on, so he came back from the cemetery. Elijah ran off the heels into the back.

Myla Grace vs. Elayna Black

Black cut off Grace’s early offense with a drop-toe hold to the middle rope, followed up by a running back elbow. Grace got some momentum back with a clothesline into a twisting neckbreaker. She went up to the top rope, but Black caught her with a knee and then a Blackout for the win.

Daria in charge

Because he went into the women’s locker room and attacked talent, Santino was suspended by Daria Rae. Indi tried to stand up for Santino, but Daria accused her of “assault” when he put her hand on her shoulder, so she’s suspended indefinitely, too. They walked off, as Daria smiled.

Sosa throws hands with the gatekeeper

Gia Miller brought out Ricky Sosa for a ramp interview. Sosa said he wanted to show the world what the Young Savage was all about. Eric Young interrupted, calling Sosa a “pretender” and a “wannabe.” He called himself “real,” “forever,” and the “gatekeeper.” Sosa tried to get on Young’s good side, but they eventually traded hands and made their way to the ring. Sosa landed a running back elbow, but while celebrating, Young hit him from behind and hit him with a piledriver.

Undead Realm returns

We got a follow-up to the end of last week’s episode, where Father James Mitchell welcomed Tessa Blanchard to the Undead Realm. She walked in as we cut to Rosemary and Mara Sade in another area, where they were “collecting sins.” They needed help, and that came with Allie’s return. Vix Crow and Mila Moore were also featured, with the latter abducted by the returning Jessicka Havok. Rosemary met with Mitchell, where Abyss returned, as well, to end the segment.

Ali-Miguel face-to-face

Mustafa Ali called Trey Miguel to the ring, where he called him a “second-chance champion,” similar to Santana. He said he doesn’t need a second chance, and that he’s not a champion because he’s too perfect. Miguel responded by calling Ali a scumbag and a coward. He called TNA family, which led Ali to say Order 4 was his family, while Miguel is all alone, with The Rascalz no longer with him. Miguel said The Rascalz are his bros for life, and he has the International Championship, while Ali has nothing, not even a set of balls. Ali then challenged Miguel to a one-on-one fight, telling Order 4 to leave the ring. Ali tried to jump at Miguel, who fought him off, prompting Order 4 to back him up. Moose came out for the save with him and Miguel standing tall.

The Hardys vs. The Righteous

To win, you need to drive both of your opponents through a table. Righteous took it to The Hardys right away and gained control after Matt Hardy missed a top-rope elbow drop through a table that Vincent rolled out of the way of. Following a commercial break, there were a lot of back-and-forth cut-off spots between the teams. The Hardys took out Dutch by tossing him off the top rope onto a table on the outside. Vincent snuck up on Matt to send him to another table on the outside. Both Vincent and Jeff missed Swanton Bomb attempts. Matt caught Vincent with a Twist of Fate on the outside and held onto him on a table so Jeff could hit a Swanton on him through a table. The Hardys will defend the titles at Rebellion against The System, but The Righteous drove The Hardys through a table in the ring and walked off.
