Tatum Paxley has retained the NXT Women’s North American Championship against Blake Monroe.

The match stemmed from Monroe previously stealing Paxley’s title belt. As the match began, Monroe raised the championship belt, prompting Paxley to initiate the offense with strikes and a shotgun dropkick.

Early in the contest, Monroe gained an advantage by executing a hurricanrana that sent Paxley crashing from the top rope onto the steel entrance ramp.

Paxley immediately favored her left shoulder following the impact. Monroe targeted the injured shoulder throughout the match, applying submission holds such as a crossface.

Paxley rallied and executed a step-up enzuigiri, which the commentary team noted she utilized to avoid using her injured left arm. She then delivered a superplex followed by another suplex, and a sit-out powerbomb, but Monroe survived the pinfall attempt.

The action moved to the apron, where Monroe powerbombed Paxley onto the floor at ringside. Back inside the ring, Monroe exposed the bottom turnbuckles by removing the pads.

While the referee was distracted fixing the turnbuckles, Monroe struck Paxley with the championship belt and hit a Michinoku Driver, but Paxley kicked out.

Monroe subsequently delivered a headbutt, causing Paxley to fall into the exposed turnbuckle. Monroe followed up with a Glamour Shot DDT, but Paxley again kicked out of the pinfall attempt.

As Monroe attempted a second Glamour Shot, Paxley countered and executed Cemetery Drive to secure the pinfall and be reunited with her title.
