Zero Hour Begins

Ring of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor event kicked off with the Zero Hour, with the first match seeing VertVixen and Viva Van taking on Mina Shirakawa and Queen Aminata. Early in the match, Viva Van blocked a Chocolate Kisses attempt from Aminata and used her own move on her. Mina fought from underneath as the match continued, and things built to a hot tag to Aminata as she took it to both VertVixen and Viva Van, leading to a double stomp off the top to Van for a near fall. Things swung back and forth between the two teams until Aminata hit Vixen with a headbutt and Mina hit a diving Tornado DDT off the top for the win. 

TBS Champion Maya World cut a backstage promo saying she was still a Ring of Honor girl. She thanked Willow Nightingale for giving her a title shot tomorrow night on Collision but said she would derail the All In match when she takes Willow’s title.

ELP vs. Adam Brooks

Announced just before showtime, the next match featured New Japan’s ELP taking on Adam Brooks. Early in the match, ELP and Brooks exchanged roll-ups, with ELP nearly catching Brooks with one of them. Brooks began an offensive assault on ELP and seemed to get the crowd behind him despite their huge positive reaction to ELP at the jump. Brooks scored multiple near falls in a row, but ELP hit the Cuthroat Driver for a near fall of his own. Finally, ELP hit a Frog Splash off the top for the pinfall victory. 

AR Fox vs. Komander vs. Soleil

Next up was a three-way match between AR Fox, Komander, and Soleil. Fox was in control as the match began, using his high-flying moveset to take it to both of his opponents. Fox hit a crazy-looking dive onto Soleil on the outside, where he landed on his head underneath the announce table but appeared to be okay. Things continued at a crazy pace and ended when Komander hit the Cielito Lindo on Soleil. The announcers noted this was the second three-way match AR Fox lost without being pinned, suggesting Komander and AR Fox would have a one-on-one match soon. 

Cage & Hechicero vs. Price & Oliver

Next, Brian Cage and Hechicero faced Alec Price & Jordan Oliver. Rocky Romero & Trent Beretta came out for commentary during this match. The crowd was firmly behind “Busta and the Brain” as they took control early on, as Price hit a huge dive to the outside onto Cage. The Don Callis Family members kept using both their strengths to take down the high-flyers, but Price and Oliver kept fighting from underneath. In the end, Cage & Hechicero picked up the win after Cage deadlift superplexed Price into the ring, and Hechicero immediately hit his Tijeras Driver for the pinfall. 

Death Before Dishonor – Main Card

The main portion of the card kicked off with the Six-Man Championship match (which should absolutely be changed to the ROH Trios titles) with Lethal Twist taking on defending champions Dalton Castle & The Outrunners. As the match began, it was explained that Turbo Floyd refuses to ever take his Championship belt off, and it, in fact, remained around his waist during the action. The champions took it to the challengers early on, but Lethal Twist cheated behind the referee’s back to gain an advantage. Johnson, Lethal, and Christian got the heat on Truth Magnum and stopped him from making the hot tag multiple times.

Finally, Dalton Castle was tagged in, and he and The Outrunners seemed to have the match won when Blake Christian removed Turbo’s title, distracting the champions. All three members of Lethal Twist then assaulted the faces with a flurry of offense, but Christian tweaked his knee coming off the top rope. Lethal Twist won when Blake Christian rolled up Turbo Floyd, and Jay Lethal grabbed his hand from the outside for leverage. Lethal Twist are your new ROH Six-Man Champions. 

Lexi Nair interviewed The Kingdom and Sammy Guevara & Beast Mortos backstage, where Matthew and Michael said they needed to work together. Mortos roared, and Sammy said, translating, that they had a deal. 

Women’s Pure Championship

Next, Deonna Purrazzo defended her Women’s Pure Championship against Steph De Lander. SDL had to use all three rope breaks and received a warning for a closed-fist punch in the first five and a half minutes of the match as Deonna dominated. De Lander began to mount a comeback, hitting Deonna with another closed-fist punch behind the referee’s back. SDL brought a chair into the ring and swung at Purrazzo, but it bounced off the rope and hit her own face. Deonna applied the Fujiwara, but SDL wouldn’t tap. Purrazzo switched to the Venus de Milo, and SDL submitted. 

Women’s Television Championship

The next match was a 4-way between Skye Blue, Zayda Steel, Red Velvet, and Marina Shafir. All four women went at it as the bell rang, and after some back-and-forth pin attempts, Shafir and Velvet were left in the ring as they pummeled each other with strikes. Skye Blue got into the ring and exchanged offense with Shafir. Shafir hit a Death Rider on Skye, only to have Zayda Steel break up the pin attempt. Shafir then threw Steel over the announce table and into Moxley, who was on commentary. 

All four went at it again in the ring simultaneously, with Shafir coming out on top of a Tower of Doom spot. Velvet and Skye double-teamed Marina, but Marina powerbombed Velvet onto Skye, only to have Zayda break up the pin again. Skye nailed Velvet and Marina with the ROH Women’s TV title, but Marina was able to recover and apply a single-leg submission to Skye. Before Skye could tap, Velvet hit a Frog Splash on Marina to pick up the win. 

ROH Pure Championship

The next match saw Lee Moriarty defending his Pure Championship against Katsuyori Shibata, who was filling in for Nigel McGuinness as he advanced in the Continental Challenge Cup this past Wednesday on Dynamite. Moriarty used a rope break less than two minutes in, as the announcers noted that it was the fastest he had ever used one. Shibata then took it to Moriarty, focusing on his knee, which eventually led to Lee using his second rope break. 

Shibata applied a Figure Four for the second time in the match, and Moriarty was forced to use his third and final rope break. The announcers explained that Moriarty had never been in this situation before. Moriarty began to power up and fight from underneath, flying out of the ring onto Shibata and face-planting into the barricade in the process. He attempted a springboard but slipped on the way down. The two exchanged quick pinfall and submission attempts until Moriarty caught Shibata with one for the win. 

Backstage, Dark Order argued about whether or not Preston Vance was a part of their group, with Silver being the only one who didn’t trust him. 

Tag Team Championship

Next was another 4-way, this time for the ROH Tag Team Championships. Mascara Dorada and Mistico defended against The Kingdom, Sammy Guevara & Beast Mortos, and Sky Flight. Guevara, Mortos, and The Kingdom jumped Mistico and Dorada before the bell, honoring their agreement to team up from earlier in the night. If you aren’t familiar, Taven and Bennett are now “Matthew and Michael,” and they listen to an AI app called “Sparta.” Bennett kept checking his phone and using Sparta to plan their attack, prompting the crowd to chant “AI sucks.” 

 

Things broke down from there, with all four teams fighting in and out of the ring at once. The Kingdom got distracted as Bennett screamed that their AI app wasn’t loading. All eight men fought to the outside as Taven hit a huge dive onto all of them on the floor. Sky Team and Sky Flight started going at it after that, with Mistico hitting an Armdrag off the top rope for the pinfall on Darius Martin. 

After the match, the Don Callis Family attacked, and a myriad of faces ran down to help out. There must have been around 24 guys all out at once. The announcers noted that this was the entire tag division, so more to come there in ROH. 

Continental Cup Play-In Match

It was announced that Eddie Kingston would not be cleared to compete tomorrow night against Claudio Castagnoli in the Continental Cup on Collision (that is a lot of Cs); therefore, Adam Priest would face Daniel Garcia to see who would face Claudio. Garcia took control early on, focusing on Priest’s knee with strikes and submission attempts. 

Priest fought from underneath, building momentum by going after Garcia’s knee and hitting him with a massive stalling superplex. Garcia recovered and applied an ankle lock to Priest, forcing him to grab the ropes to break the hold. The two exchanged forearm blows to the face, and Garcia went to run the ropes but had to stop due to his knee, which allowed Priest to hit a short arm clothesline. Priest applied a Figure Four, and the two rolled out of the ring onto the floor and almost all the way to the ramp with the hold still applied. When they realized they were both about to be counted out, they both rushed back to the ring.

Priest hit a piledriver on Garcia and followed that up with a Half Crab. Garcia reversed and applied the Dragon Tamer, forcing Priest to tap out. Garcia goes on to face fellow Death Rider Claudio Castagnoli tomorrow night on Collision.

STP were backstage celebrating Lee Moriarty’s Pure Championship defense. Shane said no one stood in their way now that they hired The Hurt Syndicate. 

Fight Without Honor for the TV Championship

Next up, Blackheart Lio Rush defended his Television title against former Cru partner Action Andretti. Rush had barbed wire on his umbrella hat and brought a wagon of weapons to ringside with him during his entrance. The two started by mirroring each other’s movements until the action spilled outside, where Andretti attacked Rush with a broom. After that sequence, Action brought out another broom and an 8×2 board. Rush found an umbrella under the ring and used it to jump off the apron onto Action, Mary Poppins style.

Rush set up a table on the ringside barrier and speared Andretti through it. Back in the ring, it was merely a near fall. Rush then went after Andretti with a shovel, trash can lids, and steel chairs, with one somehow sticking perfectly in the corner in front of Andretti.

Andretti threw Rush into the corner, and Rush landed with the chair still around his neck on the outside. Rush was busted open at this point as he set up a black table on the outside. Lio then produced a black box, a black pouch, a black chain, and a red door. Lio revealed that there was black glass in the bag, and he sliced Action’s forehead with it. After that, Rush attempted to clean up the glass with the broom. Andretti was set up on the table outside and hit with a barbed-wire chair, but before Rush could do anything more, Andretti threw the chair at Rush’s face. Rush applied the Cravat Lock when the lights went out, and when they came back on, Hook was in the ring.

Hook attacked Rush, but Rush was able to put Hook through the red door propped up in the corner. Rush hit Black Thunder on Andretti for a two-count. Lio then opened the box, but Anthony Bowens ran down to intercept. Hook applied the Redrum on Rush, and the three put Rush through the table with glass sprinkled on top as Andretti hit a Springboard 450, nearly overshooting it. Back in the ring, Rush kicked out at one. 

Andretti threw Rush into the barbed wire chair that Hook and Bowens held, following that up with Lights, Camera, Action for the win. After Andretti left, Lio opened the box and revealed a black heart that he drank from as black liquid poured from his mouth. 

World Championship

The penultimate match of the night featured Nick Wayne challenging Bandido for the ROH World Championship. The match started in high gear, with both Bandido and Wayne trading high-flying maneuvers. 

As the match continued, the intensity increased with Bandido balancing Wayne spine-first on his head, dumping him onto his face, and following that up with a Shining Wizard. Nick Wayne recovered and hit a Swanton off the top rope onto Bandido, who was hanging from the middle rope over the apron. The two went on to exchange an incredible sequence of moves, from German Suplexes, Standing Wayne’s World, Poisonrana, to Crucifix Driver.  

After that, Bandido spiked Nick Wayne head-first onto steel steps that were set up on their side on the outside, busting him open. 

Bandido attempted a Shooting Star but was met by Nick Wayne’s knees. The ROH champ set up for the 21 Plex, but Wayne countered with a Poisonrana and the Prodigy Plex, but Bandido kicked out at one. Bandido hit the X Knee and the 21 Plex, but Wayne kicked out. Wayne hit Bandido with a low blow behind the referee’s back and hit the Wayne’s World, followed by the Prodigy Plex, but Bandido reversed the pinfall attempt to pick up the win. This was excellent. 

Daniel Garcia cut a promo backstage ahead of his match against Claudio Castagnoli tomorrow night, saying Claudio was the last twenty years and he is the next. 

Women’s World Championship

The main event saw Hazuki taking on “Forever Champion” Athena. Hazuki appeared to have answers for most of Athena’s offense as the match began. Diamante and Billie Starkz appeared at ringside, distracting Hazuki and allowing Athena to hit a Facebuster for a two-count. Shortly thereafter, Athena distracted the referee, allowing Starkz to choke Hazuki. 

The action spilled to the outside where Hazuki drove Athena into a chair, and her Minions had to lift her and put her back into the ring at the count of nineteen. Hazuki began her assault at this point, planting Athena with a Tornado DDT for a two-count. Athena hit a spinning powerslam onto the apron, with Athena leaning through the top and middle ropes. Athena climbed the ropes with Hazuki on her shoulders, but Hazuki reversed it into an Avalanche Crucifix Driver for a near fall. 

Hazuki caught Athena and DDTed her on the ring apron, following that up with knees to the face twice in a row. Athena recovered and hit a Pendulum Facebuster for a two-count, following that with a Koji Clutch, but Hazuki was able to fight out of it. Hazuki caught Athena with the Crossface, but Athena was able to break it via the ropes. The two fought up onto the stage, where Hazuki hit Athena with a Fisherman Suplex onto the ramp. Back in the ring, Hazuki hit a Senton on Athena for another near fall. 

The Minions took out Referee Mike Posey and attacked Hazuki. Hazuki fought back and took out both Starkz and Diamante with a dive to the outside. Athena hit a curb stomp, but Hazuki kicked out. Next, she tried a Tombstone, but Hazuki kicked out again. Athena cleared the announce table, even shoving Caprice into the barricade. Hazuki recovered and DDT’d Athena on the floor. She set up Athena on the table and hit a splash onto her, rolling her back into the ring afterward. Hazuki hit a Brainbuster, but Athena kicked out. Athena hit an O-Face via a dive to the outside and followed that up with one more off the top rope back in the ring for the pinfall victory. 

After the match, Athena and Hazuki bowed to each other.
