Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently opened up about a potential health scare.

In an Esquire feature, Johnson told Ryan D’Agostino about a testicular cancer scare. The WWE superstar and TKO board member said he felt a lump while showering and that it hurt when he touched it. It was the only thing he could think about ahead of a press event for the newest “Jumanji” movie.

I didn’t even tell Lauren (Hashian). I didn’t want to worry her before I knew if it was anything to even worry about.

While keeping it a secret from his wife, Johnson said he called a doctor to address the pain. The doctor felt the lump and told him that it was probably epididymitis, inflammation of a tube at the back of the testicle that stores sperm. He needed an ultrasound to make sure it wasn’t cancer.

So I had to live with that for those twenty-four hours, not knowing—and I had to be on all day, joking around, making speeches.

Johnson was referring to his all-day press events, but he assured D’Agostino, while sitting in his private jet, that he was fine.

The Esquire feature went further into Johnson, opening up more about his personal life, and also briefly touched on his not earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for his role in “The Smashing Machine.”
