Trick Williams has defeated Ricky Saints at WWE Night of Champions to retain the WWE United States Championship.

Saints attacked Williams before the bell, but the champion quickly fought him off and stomped him down in the corner. Williams looked for an early Trick Shot, sending Saints to the floor to regroup.

At ringside, Saints took Lil Yachty’s kendo stick, struck the ring steps with it while the referee was turned away, and dropped to the floor as if Yachty had hit him. The referee accepted Saints’ version of events and sent Yachty to the back.

Saints then attacked Williams from behind and took control, sending him into the barricade and steps before working him over in the ring. Saints hit a rope-walk strike and a back suplex, then scored several near falls.

Williams rallied with leg lariats, a flapjack, and a uranage for a two-count. Saints answered with a second-rope clothesline and a Cross Rhodes-style neckbreaker, but Williams kicked out.

The closing stretch saw Saints avoid a Trick Shot and hit a tornado DDT, followed by an elbow drop from the top rope for another near fall. Williams later countered Saints’ offense and caught him with the Trick Shot to retain the title.

After the match, Saints tried to attack Williams from behind. Lil Yachty returned with the kendo stick, struck Saints, and then hit him with his version of the People’s Elbow.
