Big Bill has reportedly given notice to AEW and is expected to return to WWE soon.
Fightful Select reports that Bill’s AEW contract is due to expire within the next week and that he has informed the company he is leaving.
The report states that the move is expected to lead to a WWE reunion with Enzo Amore. Fightful also reports that WWE plans to sign Amore, although he had not officially signed as of mid-June while the company waited for Bill to become contractually clear.
Bill wrestled for WWE as Big Cass from 2011 until 2018. He and Amore became a hit act of the black-and-gold NXT era before moving to the main roster in April 2016.
Amore was released by WWE in January 2018, while WWE announced Morrissey’s release that June.
Following his WWE exit, Bill worked outside the company as W. Morrissey, including a run with Impact Wrestling. He later signed with AEW in 2022 and became Big Bill.
His AEW run included a reign as AEW World Tag Team Champion with Ricky Starks. The pair defeated FTR on the October 7, 2023 episode of Collision and held the titles for 123 days before losing them to Sting and Darby Allin in February 2024.
Bill later became part of Chris Jericho’s Learning Tree with Bryan Keith. After Jericho stepped away from the group, Bill and Keith continued teaming, eventually using the name Paid In Full on ROH programming.
As of Tuesday, Big Bill remained listed on AEW’s roster page.
