Mike Santana’s latest run with TNA appears to have ended after Slammiversary.
PWInsider is reporting that Santana finished up with the company at Sunday’s pay-per-view in Boston, where he lost the TNA World Championship to Nic Nemeth in the main event.
The report states that Santana is not scheduled for this week’s Impact tapings in Albany, New York, and that his current deal is due to expire in a matter of days. No exact expiration date was listed.
Santana entered Slammiversary as TNA World Champion, with Nemeth using his Call Your Shot opportunity in a match announced ahead of time. Ryan Nemeth interfered during the match, and Nic went on to defeat Santana to begin his second reign with the title.
Santana’s future has been the subject of speculation for several weeks, with WWE repeatedly mentioned as a possible destination. No deal with WWE has been announced.
Santana returned to TNA in 2024 after leaving AEW, where he had been part of Proud & Powerful with Ortiz. The team previously wrestled in TNA as part of LAX and held the company’s tag titles before joining AEW in 2019.
The past year saw Santana break through as a singles wrestler in TNA. He won the TNA World Championship for the first time at Bound For Glory in October 2025, defeating NXT’s Trick Williams, and later regained the title from Frankie Kazarian on the January 15, 2026 episode of Impact.
As part of the TNA-WWE working relationship, Santana also appeared on NXT earlier this year while holding the TNA title. In March, he teamed with OTM against DarkState at the Theater at Madison Square Garden.
Santana’s Slammiversary main event came during a period in which TNA had positioned him as one of the central figures of the promotion. The company also used him during the show to narrate the announcement video for Konnan’s induction into the TNA Hall of Fame.
