Mick Foley’s final deal with WWE has come to an end.
61-year-old Foley’s last Legends deal with WWE expired this week, cutting his final ties to the company.
Foley announced late last year that he planned to no longer work with WWE, citing the company’s relationship with U.S. President Donald Trump and his administration as a reason for distancing himself.
“I no longer wish to represent a company that coddles a man so seemingly void of compassion as he marches our country towards autocracy,” Foley wrote in December.
In his statement last year, Foley mentioned that his WWE deal was scheduled to end in June 2026. That time has passed, and Foley now says he has moved on to the next part of his career with AEW.
“It’s time for a new chapter in my career and in my life, and I’m really looking forward to this adventure with AEW,” Foley said on Facebook this week. “And I’m really looking forward to doing everything I can possibly do to make AEW as great as it can possibly be. And I’m looking forward to having some merchandise coming out with AEW in addition to a couple of other companies that I just talked to today, that have a couple of exciting ideas, and I’ll be rolling out those ideas sometime soon.”
Foley thanked those in WWE’s merchandising department, mentioning that he had never received his own action figure before joining the company. He also informed fans that he has “no problem” signing WWE memorabilia, as he remains proud of the work he did for the company.
Foley appeared as a host for AEW’s Double or Nothing pre-show in May. It was announced during the broadcast that he had signed with the company, taking a deal to join the company’s broadcast team.
The legendary star didn’t appear at last weekend’s AEW pay-per-view, with reports stating his personal schedule had conflicted with the San Jose event.
