The ratings are in for NXT’s first-ever Premium Live Event (PLE) on The CW.
Great American Bash, which aired Sunday night at 7 p.m. ET on the CW U.S. TV network, averaged 394,000 viewers and attracted a 0.07 in the key 18-49 demographic. Ratings data was originally reported by Wrestlenomics and Programming Insider.
The figure is down significantly in comparison to the number NXT usually draws for its weekly Tuesday night show on The CW. For comparison, last week’s NXT TV averaged 668,000 viewers, a little less than double the amount that Great American Bash attracted.
NXT’s lowest weekly TV rating of the year thus far has been 498,000.
NXT Great American Bash was headlined by a women’s title showdown, with the fast-rising Kendal Grey unseating Lola Vice to begin her first-ever run with the belt. The show opened with a matchup between NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo and Naraku.
The event was notably going head-to-head with AEW’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view, which had its pre-show go live at the same time as NXT’s broadcast start. The broadcast was able to steer clear of live World Cup matchups, which have significantly impacted TV ratings in recent weeks. The sole World Cup game of the day, Canada vs. South Africa, had wrapped up before the card’s start time.
