No Matter Who the Target Is

AEW Dynamite from Boston kicked off with footage from earlier in the day, showing the Death Riders working with Will Ospreay. Jon Moxley gave Ospreay a pep talk, saying that he was nearing the finish line and he earned it. Mox advised Will not to hesitate and to pull the trigger no matter who the target is. 

Tag Team Championship

The first match of the evening saw Adam Copeland and Christian Cage defending the tag titles against the Death Riders’ Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia. Cage and Copeland controlled the early goings of the match, but the Death Riders quickly turned the tide after dropping Copeland into the ring skirt and double-teaming him.

After an ad break, Copeland fought from underneath, finally making the hot tag to Christian. At one point, Christian tried to remove the top turnbuckle and attempted to hit Yuta with a low blow behind the referee’s back, but his attempt was thwarted. Yuta attempted the same, which allowed Cage to hit the low blow. Christian then threw Yuta into the air as Copeland hit the Spear, winning. After the match, The Young Bucks appeared in the crowd, applauding the Champions. The Dogs and Claudio Castagnoli appeared, attacking the champions. This brought out the Bang Bang Gang to even the odds. Jay White stole the shillelagh from Finalay and chased him off. Cage got into White’s face, with the announcers noting their history. The Bang Bang Gang had a brief stare-down with the champions before cooler heads prevailed and Copeland slapped their hands. 

An Andrade vignette aired, with him saying that he is a future world champion. It ended with Andrade saying, “How you know? Soon you will”. This immediately cut to Andrade being interviewed by Renee Paquette. Andrade said if he has to take every title away from the Don Callis Family, he will because his destiny is to become AEW World Champion. Andrade revealed he had MJF’s Dynamite Diamond ring and said he had a good friend, referring to Will Ospreay. 

The Conglomeration was asked who they wanted to face for the Trios titles when The Demand entered and made the challenge. Before the match could be made, the Lethal Twist jumped them, taking them out. Ricochet said that they were not in The Demand “yet”. 

Andrade vs. Jake Doyle

Next, the Don Callis Family’s Jake Doyle took on Andrade, with a shot at Mark Davis’ National title on the line. Andrade was wearing the MJF Dynamite Diamond ring on his finger as he came down to the ring, yet Don Callis was absent, as he was also absent from Collision this past weekend. Doyle jumped Andrade as the bell rang, knocking him to the outside and landing hard on his shoulder. Andrade took control briefly, taking a selfie with a female fan at ringside, but Doyle quickly countered with a rough-looking chokeslam on the ring apron. 

After a commercial, Andrade began mounting a comeback against the much larger Doyle, but Doyle hit big impact moves to stop the comeback attempts. Both men had near falls until Andrade hit Dia de los Muertos, followed by the DM for the win. Excalibur immediately announced that Andrade will get his National title shot at Redemption next Sunday in Montreal. Mark Davis appeared on the stage and went to charge the ring when Andrade put on the Dynamite Diamond ring, and Davis thought better of it. 

Championship Celebration

Next was the Kenny Omega Championship Celebration. The Young Bucks came out right after Kenny was introduced to join their Elite stablemate. The Bucks said they were proud of him and he did it all by himself. The Bucks revealed a new classic title belt to replace the “Triple B” MJF belt. Kenny got on the mic and noted it had been over a thousand days since he held the title, and he wasn’t sure he could do it. Omega said there were less than fifty days until All In, and he had work to do, but the version of himself at All In would be him at his best. This brought out Will Ospreay, and again, Excalibur used the phrase “As it stands” for their All In match. 

Ospreay acknowledged the Bucks and their last interaction being their losing their EVP titles and asked them to leave so he could talk to Kenny one-on-one. He buttered Omega up, calling him the Best Bout Machine, the Cleaner, and one of the greatest to ever do it. Will said he knew it would heat up between them as they headed to All In, but before then, he wanted to thank Kenny for being an inspiration to him over the last ten years. Ospreay and Omega were about to shake hands when TNT Champion Kevin Knight interrupted. 

Knight said he was still owed a World title shot, courtesy of MJF, and he was there to collect. He called Omega a “God of pro wrestling” but asked what a God was to a nonbeliever. Knight challenged Omega for Redemption, and Omega questioned why he would honor MJF’s promise. Instead, Omega said he would give him a shot because he was a nice guy and he saw something special in Knight. Omega admitted that it was because of Don Callis that he won the title the first time, but no one was proud of him back then. He said that he would face Knight at Redemption, but only if he got the real “Jet”, not Don Callis’ lapdog. 

Knight said that he didn’t have any goodness left in his heart, only greatness, and attacked Omega. Ospreay attempted a Hidden Blade, but Knight ducked it and high-tailed it. Darby Allin jumped Knight from behind, and other members of the Don Callis Family appeared. This brought out the Death Riders and the two groups stared each other down. 

Jungle Jack Perry cut a backstage promo calling this “Chapter 2” of his story, after winning four championships in his first chapter. He said he wanted to give an opportunity for someone to prove that they are the future of the business, this Saturday on Collision. The camera panned back, revealing that Luchasaurus was holding the boom mic.

Brodido vs. Comoroto & Solo

Next, Bandido and Brody King faced Nick Comoroto and Aaron Solo. Bandido quickly showed off his strength, hitting Comoroto with a stalling press slam. This was over in just over two minutes with Bandido hitting both opponents with a single Frog splash. 

Kyle Fletcher was interviewed backstage ahead of his match with Komander. Brodido interrupted, celebrating on their way to the back after their win and handed Fletcher a Bandido “Wanted” poster. 

International Championship

The next match was the aforementioned International title defense by Kyle Fletcher against Komander. Things went back and forth early on until Komander hit his rope walk jumping moonsault heading into a break.
