AEW Collision 8/29 Results: TBS Title match added to All In during last stop before Wembley Stadium

Steven Borden confronted TNT Champion Kevin Knight on the final AEW Collision before All In, while another title match was added to Sunday’s card.

TBS Champion Maya World will defend against Persephone on the All In Buy-In. Meanwhile, “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Nick Wayne have been added to the Men’s Casino Gauntlet match.

The August 29 episode was taped Wednesday at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, following Dynamite.

Mercedes Moné vs. Isla Dawn

Mercedes Moné opened the show against Glasgow native Isla Dawn, one night before challenging Willow Nightingale for the AEW Women’s World Championship.

Moné controlled much of the match by targeting Dawn’s left arm. Dawn mounted a comeback with strikes and a suplex, but Moné cut her off with a buckle bomb and Meteora before transitioning from the Moné Maker into the Statement Maker for the submission.

Nightingale, whose hand was bandaged, came to the ring afterward and attacked Moné. Commentary said the champion had been medically cleared for All In following her injury.

Moné escaped through the crowd before Nightingale said she would walk into Wembley Stadium as champion and leave the same way, still smiling.

Jon Moxley addresses Nigel McGuinness

Jon Moxley spoke about facing Nigel McGuinness in the Continental Challenge Cup final at All In.

Moxley acknowledged the determination McGuinness had shown to reach the final but said the pressure was on his opponent. He described the match as “Game 7” and warned that he would have no hesitation in attacking McGuinness’ injured leg.

Chris Jericho, Mike Bailey & Komander vs. Tommaso Ciampa, Nick Wayne & Mark Davis

All six participants were confirmed as entrants in Sunday’s Men’s Casino Gauntlet.

Jericho received a strong reception from the Glasgow crowd before starting against Ciampa. The match quickly broke down into exchanges involving all six wrestlers, with Bailey and Komander providing much of the aerial offense.

Tension continued between Ciampa and Wayne. They shoved one another during the match, prompting Davis to tell them to concentrate, and Ciampa later accidentally struck Wayne with an elbow.

Jericho capitalized by hitting Ciampa with the Judas Effect. Bailey then defeated Wayne after a rapid closing exchange.

Bailey and Wayne are the two new additions to the Casino Gauntlet. They join previously announced entrants including MJF, Andrade El Idolo, Jericho, Davis, Ciampa and Komander.

The Dogs vs. Ronan King, Judas Grey & Landon Riley

The Dogs dominated Ronan King, Judas Grey and Landon Riley in a brief trios match.

Gabe Kidd, David Finlay and Clark Connors attacked immediately and isolated Riley late in the match. Connors hit a spear before The Dogs completed the victory.

They will be among the teams challenging for the AEW World Trios Championship during the Trios Roulette Royale on the All In Buy-In.

Nigel McGuinness looks ahead to All In

A promo from Nigel McGuinness aired ahead of his Continental Challenge Cup final against Moxley.

McGuinness acknowledged that Moxley was favored to win and said failing to defeat him at Wembley would haunt him. He vowed to leave with the championship and bring the Continental Challenge Cup home.

Hangman Page, Brodido & Bang Bang Gang vs. The Demand & Lethal Twist

The upcoming Trios Roulette Royale was previewed in a 12-man tag involving several of the teams competing at All In.

Brody King spent a lengthy period isolated before Hangman Page entered and cleared the ring. A sequence of dives and multi-person offense followed as the match broke down.

Jay Lethal avoided Page’s first attempt at a Buckshot Lariat, but Jay White had made a blind tag. Page connected with the Buckshot on his second attempt, allowing White to follow with the Blade Runner and pin Lethal.

The Dogs attacked after the bell. The Death Riders also entered the fight before The Conglomeration joined the mass brawl involving teams from Sunday’s Trios Roulette Royale.

Skye Blue vs. Harley Cameron

Harley Cameron returned to AEW action against Skye Blue.

Cameron recovered from an early spell of offense by Blue and connected with a crucifix bomb during her comeback.

Julia Hart then came to ringside and slid one of the Artist of Stardom Championship belts toward Blue. Cameron grabbed it before Blue could use it, and the referee removed the belt from the ring.

Hart produced another title belt while the referee was occupied. Blue struck Cameron with it and made the cover for the victory.

Maya World challenges Persephone

TBS Champion Maya World addressed Persephone following their encounter on Dynamite.

Persephone had pinned World in Wednesday’s six-woman tag after striking her with the TBS Championship. World said she was embarrassed by what happened and challenged the CMLL Women’s Champion to face her again.

The title match was subsequently made official for Sunday’s All In Buy-In.

Steven Borden confronts Kevin Knight

Don Callis accompanied TNT Champion Kevin Knight and other members of the Don Callis Family to the ring.

Knight said Darby Allin had brought their escalating violence upon himself and claimed he had sent his All In challenger to the emergency room three times.

A hooded man then attacked Knight before members of the Callis Family overwhelmed him. The attacker was revealed as Steven Borden, the son of Sting.

Callis stopped his group from continuing the attack and instead tried to recruit Borden. He praised Borden’s athletic background and suggested he could become even better than his father by joining the Don Callis Family.

Borden took the microphone and told Knight that Allin would be at Wembley and would take the TNT Championship from him.

Knight responded by striking Borden and then hitting him with the championship belt.

Knight defends against Allin in a Falls Count Anywhere match at All In.

Konosuke Takeshita vs. The Beast Mortos

Kyle Fletcher joined commentary for the main event ahead of his AEW International Championship defense against Takeshita and Kazuchika Okada.

Takeshita repeatedly turned his attention toward Fletcher while battling Mortos. The Beast Mortos landed a spear and crucifix bomb during the closing stretch, while Takeshita answered with a Blue Thunder Bomb and running knee.

Mortos attempted a pop-up Samoan Drop, but Takeshita countered and transitioned into Raging Fire for the pin.

Fletcher attacked Takeshita from behind immediately afterward with the International Championship. He continued the assault before hitting a brainbuster onto the title belt.

Fletcher stood over Takeshita with the championship as Collision went off the air.
