Sarah Schreiber was backstage with Mike Santana to ask about how he’s feeling about the NXT Title match. He said he felt like he belonged. He repeated that he was a poor Puerto Rican kid from the projects, and now here he is. He’s been counted out and laughed at, but the NXT Title is one three-count away. Santana called this the toughest battle of his career and talked about his opponents. He added this was where he thrives, and it would be the moment when he silences everyone
NXT Tag Team Championship: Myles Borne & Tavion Heights (c) vs. The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes)
Myles and Brad started the match with Borne getting the better of Baylor. Quick tags from Smokes and Heights, and Tavion kept the momentum going with a gutbuster and an overhead through combo. Vanity Project took a timeout outside, and Smokes distracted Borne so that Baylor could attack him. Borne still got the better of him, but Vanity Project worked together to work over Borne’s back. Something seemed to happen to Borne’s hand, but Vanity Project continued to work over Borne’s back and ribs. Heights got the hot tag and locked in the ankle lock on Brad. Smokes helped out Baylor, as Heights tried to call over Myles for help, but he handled him and re-applied the Baylor. Smokes prevented a potential tap out, as Borne was still out. Heights’ eyes were raked, and Myka Lockwood provided a distraction advantage.

Submission match: Nattie vs. Jaida Parker
This match immediately turned into a brawl outside. Nattie went after Jaida’s knee, and both women were fighting for an abdominal stretch through the picture-in-picture ad break. It seemed like both women were in the wrong position, as Jaida had Nattie in a crosschoke, and Karmen Petrovic distracted the referee from the other side of the ring. Jaida and Nattie went over to that side, and Karmen distracted the ref again to allow Nikkita Lyons to attack Jaida from behind. Los Perros del Mal stood on the ramp, and Karmen left the match to join them. Jaida locked in her own Sharpshooter and made Nattie tap.

She continued to work that over, even hitting a neckbreaker by dropping Grey vertically on her knee. She landed Eat Defeat and got off her One of a Kind moonsault, but it only got a two-count.

Mystery of the Mist
Naraku cut a pre-taped promo on Shiloh Hill: He said Hill is smart, but the smartest man can lack judgment. He called out Hill’s internet research, saying that doesn’t mean he understands the mystery of the mist. He told Hill that curiosity drew him into an unknown world that he’ll regret running into. He also told him that nothing could prepare him for the toxin getting into his eyes. He talked about the power of the red mist and how he’s left room for more pain. On Tuesday, he’ll show Hill why he’ll live in darkness.

We got a pre-taped Kam Hendrix promo, where he called Mason Rook an everyman, but Hendrix is not relatable. He called himself the star people come to pay to see, and he should be strapped with championships. However, Rook cost him that, and he’ll take away the rocket strapped to Rook on Tuesday.
NXT Championship: Tony D’Angelo (c) vs. Cruz Montana vs. Grayson Waller vs. Zilla Fatu
No one wasted time, as the crowd was into Zilla, but a big Mike Santana dive took the match into ad break.
