Hall of Famer and now once again champion.

Shortly after getting inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame, Amazing Red won a seven-way scramble to capture the company’s X-Division Championship for the fourth time. He win emerged as part of Sunday’s Bound for Glory event in Tampa, Florida.

Red won in a match also involving KC Navarro, Rich Swann, Ryan Nemeth, Cedric Alexander, Fabian Aichner, and BDE.

Navarro was near closing out the match late, connecting with his 305 (modified 619), then the Blessing in Disguise finisher. A pin attempt was stopped by Nemeth, who pulled the referee out of the ring.

Navarro took out Nemeth at ringside, then got back into the ring to battle with Red. It was at this point when Red connected with a Spanish Fly out of the corner, then a Canadian Destroyer for the pinfall win in 10 minutes.

Amazing Red was a late addition to the match, unexpectedly announcing his participation during the TNA Hall of Fame ceremony earlier in the night. He is now the eighth wrestler in TNA history to hold the X-Division title four separate times in his career. His last reign dates back 16 years, a 2-day run in 2010.

The X-Division Championship was vacated earlier this year, when ex-champ Leon Slater traded in the belt for a shot at Nic Nemeth’s TNA World Championship. Apart from Red, who joined the match on Sunday, the other six men got into the bout through a series of qualifying matches on Impact in recent weeks.
