Jim Ross is back home after a recent hospital visit earlier this month.
The 74-year-old posted on social media on Oct. 12 that he had to be back in the hospital “due to low oxygen.” The event came after his second brain procedure, and he added in his post that he weighed 198 pounds.
On the latest episode of “Grilling JR,” co-host Conrad Thompson offered encouraging news about Ross.
I finally got an update on the Voice of Wrestling, Mr. Jim Ross. As you all know, J.R. had to do a little outpatient visit recently, and it turns out he got a little bit of a chest cold. He’s got some sort of infection in his chest. They said his oxygen was low, so he spent the night in the hospital, but I’m happy to report that he is home and on the mend. They still haven’t gotten his shunt hooked back up yet, so we’re hoping for that sooner rather than later.
Thompson added that Ross was still “under the weather.” He also called back to a quote from Ross, “Hey, man, if it wasn’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all,” as a way to show their support for his recovery.
Ross has undergone a pair of operations on his brain over the past two months. In August, he had a shunt inserted to address problems he was experiencing regarding his memory and balance. This month, he had a second procedure, which he stated was to address an issue with the shunt.
The veteran pro wrestling commentator’s health issues have been well documented, as Ross has also dealt with colon and skin cancer in recent years.
Ross last appeared on an AEW broadcast at Double or Nothing this past May.
