Buddy Matthews return dates in Australia off, citing ‘scheduling conflicts’

Buddy Matthews won’t be making his return as part of this week’s World Series of Wrestling tour.

Back in May, Matthews was announced for a series of dates with Australia’s World Series of Wrestling promotion. As part of the tour, Matthews would do a show in New Zealand as well as four nights in Australia. It would be his first time working shows since early 2025, when the AEW star suffered an ankle injury.

However, just days before the tour was scheduled to kick off, Matthews has been scrapped from the lineup.

Here’s the statement from WSW:

“We have just learnt, that due to scheduling conflicts, Buddy Matthews will no longer be appearing on the WSW MEGAMANIA Tour. We’re really disappointed that Buddy won’t be joining us this time around, but we completely understand that schedules can change. We hope to have Buddy Matthews back to World Series Wrestling on a future tour! Thank you for understanding and continued support.”

While we haven’t seen Matthews in ages, the AEW talent announced two months ago that he’s officially cleared to compete once again.
