Friday Night SmackDown scored its best viewership figures in nearly three months and was the top program on its night.
The July 18 episode from San Antonio averaged 1,546,000 viewers and 603,000 viewers (0.45) in the 18-49 demographic on the USA Network.
It was the show’s largest figures in both categories since April 25 and represented an 11 percent increase in viewership and a 22 percent gain in the core demographic.
In the 18-49 demo, females saw a 43 percent increase over last week, while males were down by four percent this week.
The show ranked first in the demo among all television programs and beat out the WNBA’s All-Star Skills Challenge and Fox programming among its cable competition on the night.
SmackDown also topped all programming in the 25-54 demographic and was ninth in overall viewership.
The show was headlined by John Cena and Cody Rhodes holding a contract signing for their match at SummerSlam.
Resident Alien, which airs immediately after SmackDown on the USA Network, averaged 382,000 viewers and 0.09 in the 18-49 demographic.
