AEW has announced a tag team match for Forbidden Door that will see former rivals Adam Copeland and Christian Cage team up to face Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian.

The match was made official during Wednesday’s broadcast of AEW Dynamite, following an in-ring angle where the two longtime friends and recent enemies appeared to reconcile.

The reunion happened after Adam Copeland’s singles match against Stokely Hathaway. That bout ended in a disqualification when FTR’s Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler attacked Copeland. To the surprise of the crowd, Christian Cage ran in to make the save, chasing FTR away.

Copeland then returned the favor, saving Cage from a two-on-one attack by Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian. Following the skirmish, the two shared a reluctant hug to close the segment.

Later in the broadcast, Tony Schiavone announced the match from the ring. Excalibur noted on commentary that Cope and Christian would have to iron out any lingering distrust between them.
